We were visiting our son who is playing basketball for a local college and staying at a hotel in Oneonta, NY. We chose this restaurant because of the weather and the location to the hotel. What a huge mistake............... we arrived at the restaurant which was not very crowded. Was greeted by the "hostess" who indicated that there was a... More

My wife was influenced by her peers at work, that this place is a great place to have a quiet Italian meal, so we tried it. When we pulled into the parking lot at 645PM on this Friday night in Nov., we thought that we were glad that we had made reservations. But when we entered the place, we wondered... More

Our first time here. We ordered the lunch special for $10. Pasta with chicken, shrimp, sauce and lots of garlic. We liked it, but not a big enough portion to take home any leftovers. Waitress was very nice and gave us extra bread , so that was great. We realized later that we arrived a little bit before they actually... More

More often than not, my wife and I will go out to dinner in the city of Oneonta. Have not gone out for lunch very often, but visited Bella Michael's on River Street today and had a most wonderful lunch to say the least. The restaurant was open on a Monday, which is not always the case in Oneonta. I... More

We have never had a bad meal, or a mediocre meal at Bella Michaels. It is a gem located on a side street in the college town of Oneonta. We go for lunch as often as we can. The fish is exquisitely prepared as is everything else. The service is personal and efficient. We love this place!

We started with appetizers. Some of us ha onion soup, and it was served barely hot. I shared the stuffed mushrooms. They were tasty, but also barely warm. I ordered the special - the Chilean sea bass, which was served plain over some grilled zucchini with some sort of oil splashed over it. It also had no other seasoning. I... More

pork was great, the sea bass was small and bland and unimaginative. The food could have been hotter.

This restaurant was down the street from the Hampton Inn. It is in a lovely old house. The menu was very extensive and all of the food fresh and surprisingly good for a small upstate town! I had eggplant parmesan, my usual choice to determine how good the Italian food really is---this was very good and enough food to feed... More

The food at Bella Michael's was very good and our waitress was pleasant. I was a bit surprised that the interior was more like a cafeteria instead of a a cozy Italian place. From the outside I expected something different. All the food for our party of 4 was good except for the chicken parmigiana. The chicken was leathery, but... More

This is the kind of place where you aren't sure if you'll make a return trip or not as you walk out the door after eating. The food was very good; I had the Shrimp Bella Michael's and my husband had Chicken Fantasia, followed by a cannoli and creme brûlée. The bottle of wine we chose off the wine list... More
