Good food reasonably priced

Jay's Place is not easy to find, tucked in the back of a plaza. Prices were reasonable. Bread was very good and served warm, salad was a good size. My salmon was good but the broccoli had no taste. Another person at our table ordered the prime rib, which he said was very good but for ordering... read more

Food very good. Seafood was a bit skippy on the portions for the price. The other two meals were very good for the price paid. Qulaity was good for the what we paid. This place is very hard to find. It is in a small plaza towards the back corner on the south side of the road.

This steak and seafood restaurant is hidden behind other buildings just down the street. An umpire told us about it. Practically walking distance and not bad!

I had the opportunity to eat at Jay's Place for the first time last week. It reminded me the 1950's and 1960's Supper Clubs, minus the relish trays. We walked in and immediately lowered the mean age by a couple of decades. Most folks there seemed to be long time customers. We enjoyed the waitstaff, who seemed at home with... More

We Love Jay's Place! If you are looking for delicious made-from-scratch meals, look no further than Jay's Place. This is a real "Oneonta insider" place, frequented mostly by locals for their delicious steak and seafood dishes. The food is consistently fabulous and Jay uses only high quality ingredients. The staff at Jay's are top-notch. Penny (hostess) always greet guests with... More

Your average steak place... They did a nice job with my dinner. My dinner companion wasn't happy with his dinner though. I found the atmosphere to be needing an update and the service was much slower than I would prefer.

meal was both awful and expensive. I ordered one of the expensive steaks, and it was overcooked and the sauce lacked flavor. The potatoes were good, the salad was boring, and the bread was ok.

I've eaten here twice, and both times I went I was blown away by the quaility. The bar is well appointed, and the bartenders are very friendly. I love prime rib, and theirs is very good, and easily the best around. The seafood is also very good, and I've learned that you can often order combinations not on the menu... More

My husband and I ate here recently and were amazed at how good the food was. Unlike some other posters, we did not mind the decor. The car headlight photos are a little weird, but hey it's unique. The food was amazing. I ordered chicken florentine and smoked gouda mac and cheese. Amazing! He ordered steak and was not let... More

Jay's Place is tucked in the back of a rather pedestrian looking plaza. There is plenty of free parking. We entered the dark and dingy corridor and managed to find our way into the bar without tripping. The bar is large and appears to be well stocked with some tables. There is an attached dining room . The hostess was... More
