on the way back home to Albany, my wife and I stopped in, having ate their chicken in the past at area fundraisers. The restaurant decor is stuck in 1960 and it was kinda pleasant that a place like that still exists. The chicken was great like always and the price is right. We'll be back for sure!

Today was my first visit. You cook see the smoke from a half mile away. There were three dozen people in line ahead of us and the line moved quickly. The interior is back country 1960s with chicken themed wall paper, plain decor. But once my food arrived I never looked up. The salad bar was decent. Great cole slaw.... More

I've been visiting the area for over 25 years and get here whenever I can. There is always a long line, no reservations, and no credit cards. Charcoal grilled meats, great sides and desserts, and friendly staff.

Brooks is a great BBQ restaurant, Family owned for 2 or 2 generations. Brooks is a great place to get good food and a reasonable cost.

Returning to Oneonta for a college reunion weekend. Fall colors are spectacular. Michele took care of our order and was very pleasant. Busy dining room at 5:45 pm. Our meals were delicious and Michele gave us drink refills. My BBQ Sampler dinner was great.

We have been coming here several times a year for over 30 years. We loved coming here and have consistently had a very good meal at reasonable prices until a week ago. We came about 1:30 on a Tuesday p.m. The place is always busy but it just looked disheveled and not at all like it usually does. We were... More

Brooks House of Barbecue in Oneonta, NY has delicious chicken, (and ribs, too). We live an hour away and go at least once a month. (Usually on Sunday and get there a few minutes before noon to avoid the line.) The dinner, served with choice of potato, salad bar, 1/2 chicken & warm bread is reasonable, about $9.00. The service... We were invited by friends and didn't know quite what to expect. The 1/4 chicken was perfect, as were the ribs. But for me, the test is the roast beef-it was just right- rare, juicy and tender. I like the cole slaw less creamy and sweeter, but that is really a matter of taste. The salad was fine, and we... More

This place is the most popular of anywhere in the area. Even though there is a line, you will be served promptly with the tastiest chicken, or ribs, or whatever. And the salad buffet is always fresh and open to seconds. This is THE place we have gone to several times a year, for ages. and show it off to all... More

This style of barbeque reminds me of the type you'll get at club/school fundraisers down south. No tomato sauce or ketchup in this basting sauce but I love how the meat flavor is enhanced by the oils and spices. Two sides come with your meal and I chose the potato salad and baked beans. The potato salad was the best... More
