My wife and I had dinner here while staying at the Alpine Homestead B&B next door in late September. Recommended by our hosts, the Owl exceeded expectations. The mushroom and goat cheese appetizer was the perfect start. My wife had the pork loin, and I had the seafood stew. Both were excellent--we would recommend without reservation. The ambiance on the... More

Great and tasty Latin flair food, service and music. The seafood stew was excellent paired with the stuffed pepper. The duck was tasty and cooked to perfection.

Substantially overrated. Prices were high and food was average. Appetizers, main course and desert for 2 without drinks cost $97 before gratuity. We anticipated the higher prices but also expected a step up from the average chain restaurant. Main courses were Peruvian chicken and marinated hanger steak. The tiny steak, 4 oz at best, was tasty, properly prepared and seasoned.... More

Visited on 8/12/2014 Had a great dinner here, and both the food and experience were wonderful. We sat on the enclosed patio/porch, which was screened in to keep out the bugs. There was some light music playing and shawls/scarves to keep the chills away once the sun went behind the mountains. Service was great, starting with the host and the... More

Sorry to say but we were all very disapointed with our evening. We had awkward service from the time we walked in the door, food was average at best, cold flassid salad, brown avacados, small portions, ugly plating, and WAY over priced for quantity and quality. Can not reccomend, will not go back.

This little restaurant in the middle of nowhere somehow has it all. The ambiance is extremely nice -- soft music, perfect lighting, nice porch setting and inside space. Wait staff is attentive and professional. The food was extremely good without being pretentious. We had the duck and the pork loin. Both where perfectly prepared. If you are in the area,... More

We had heard a lot about this little place and decided to give it a try. We had such a great meal, and overall dining experience. The owner (Mark) is right there on-site, and is a genuinely nice guy. To be honest, at first glance with thought the prices might be a little high, but once we got our food... More

Who would have thought Oldmsteadvile could host such a wonderful restaurant. Consistently great food, even with a quirky schedule (call to see when they are open) and a recent change of ownership - still a great place to get a meal when passing thru.

The menu had a good variety of items you probably do not make at home. I had Thai eggplant for an appetizer and Peruvian chicken for the entree. My wife had lobster and shrimp as a n appetizer and duck for an entree. All was very good with a nice presentation. The dining room is small with nine tables. The... More

The Adirondacks isn't where one would expect to find exquisite, creative cuisine, but there it is. The ambiance is simple, spare. Considering the rustic, moldering and shabby milieu of the town, the restaurant is actually rather elegant, yet homey and cozy. The wait staff of one - Steve - is painstakingly conscientious and warm hearted. The chef, Sue, came out... More
