My honey & I took a motorcycle ride to Old Forge today and decided to have lunch. I have always wanted to eat at the Old Mill, so we stopped there. We were going to eat on the deck but it was a bit chilly for me so we moved inside. I am so glad we did. The interior is... More

A very nice looking woodsie restaurant. Pleasant hostess, very nice wait staff. Food just so-so. Expensive for the quality of the food. Yes u get a kettle of soup which is just- ok. Then a salad bowl of salad with a variety of self serve salad dressings. The 4 of us were ready for prime rib- which is their feature-... More

Not much selection. Food delayed because cook forgot to turn on fryer. Chicken fingers was stringy, fries were cold. Also - not the restaurant's fault (I guess) - but a very rude and obnoxious diner at another table carried on an extended and extremely loud cell phone chat with a golfing buddy who apparently needed blow-by-blow directions to Old Forge... We eat at the Old Mill in Old Forge, NY, once, or twice, a year. We noticed some changes from the last time we dined here. Warm rolls had replaced the small loaves of warm bread that were normally served, and the tossed salad contained fewer vegetables and the two cherry tomatoes in it were not very appealing. Garlic mashed... More

Love The Old Mill. A pot of soup is brought to your table to serve yourself. Have had many different soups and they are all good. Large bowl of salad is then brought with homemade salad dressing. The food is good and the desserts excellent.

Great place to eat in Old Forge. Soup, salad and bread served family style you can have as much as you want. Food is excellent and service great. Will make this a definite stop whenever I go to the Old Forge area.

The setting is lovely, but most of the seating is inside, where it's dark, and there's not much of a view. That said, we did have a cozy table for two. We felt that quantity overshadowed quality at The Old Mill. The service was a bit slow, but once we put in our order, the food came out quickly, and... More

We went to dinner with a party of 10 on a Tuesday night. The place was fairly empty so no problem getting a table. The waitress was friendly and service was prompt. The soup (chicken and rice), served family style, was very good. The entrees were good, although the steaks (both the filet and delmonico), while perfectly cooked, did not... More

Make sure you're sitting down. It's been a couple of years since we've eaten here. Prices were fairly reasonable THEN. NOW, they are unbelievable! Ok, lets back up. We were seated and I'm one that immediately starts looking around and when I looked up the light hanging above me was pretty filthy, from dried food of some sort. Not a... More
