This place should be called Michaels But Hole. Not Michaels Porthole. It is in an industrial area among boat yards. When I walked through the front doors my jaws dropped as to the ambiance . It was the the dead of winter and so were the 4 people at the bar. There are plastic booths along the walls where we... More

Stopped by the Porthole on Sunday afternoon, June 8, 2014 for lunch with my wife and son. While the place is a bit rundown, the staff provided excellent service and the food was enjoyable. My wife had the lobster and I had the steak tidbits; we were both very satisfied with our meals. We will definitely go back.

My husband and I usually eat there a few times each summer. Food is very good and staff is very friendly. I was looking for an inexpensive place with great food to have my son's 1st birthday party. Michael the owner was wonderful to work with! I wanted cookie and milk buffet for dessert and he exceeded my expectations. The... More

we dropped by with friends from work..the band was great JSB..place was almost empty maybe 20 people. this place is a dump with concrete floors..we did not eat here..bathrooms were grimy also!! the worst aspect of our evening was a fat drunken menopausal loser in black and overdone sequins who was very drunk..very belligerent...very out of control!! smoking inside..starting fights... I have been to the Porthole two or three times in the last couple of months. We had bought groupons for it (because we live in the area and we had been there last year and it was pretty good). Each time we had been there in the last couple of months, it wasn't worth the groupon! I don't blame... More

I'm really surprised this place is still in business. Went there to see the Good Rats perform and had a terrible meal. One of the worst I've had anywhere. This place is hard to find, you have to drive past junkyards and boatyards to get there. On an unpleasant looking canal so there goes the watefront dining experiene. Just don't... More

Located in an industrial area Michaels Porthole Restaurant is rather overpriced for what you get. The food is very good but the steamer appetizer is very small for the money. All the other portions were adequate though. The service was average. On the whole we found this restaurant overpriced and nothing served was either very bad or very good.
