Five of us enjoyed a Friday night dinner at Alain's, a "classic" French bistro in an out of the way strip mall off of Rte. 59 in Nyack. All but one of us have dined there before. We shared several first courses including the mussels (meuniere), steak tartare, foie gras pate and zucchini flowers. All were excellent. Main courses included... More

Very well made French bistro food keeps me coming back. They have established themselves after a smaller local footprint. They produce top notch french bistro food, great twice cooked fires and all of the standards. They also do excellent coffee.

Discovered this restaurant last night. Great ambiance, friendly staff, and the food was delicious. I would recommend the short ribs and mussels. I plan to visit this establishment again.

My wife and I had dinner Saturday night. She LOVES Dover Sole and has had it msny times in many places. She said it was as good as any she's ever tasted, and better (and we're not kids). I had steak, I usually do. It was perfect. The wine was wonderful, the service was Alains usual, which means about as... More

Ate at Alain's on a recent Saturday night. We do not mind paying for a good meal, but it seemed a bit expensive for what it was, compared to similar restaurants in the area. It was fine, but not exceptional. (no "wow" factor) I like to feel that I am eating something that is worth leaving the house for. We'll... More

A perfect spot for a cold evening. Usually I like to frequent the Nyack restaurants closer to the river, but this was perfect on a late fall night, though the setting next to a laundromat may be off putting for some. We ate there during Hidson Valley Restauarent Week and had a great meal. Alain came by each table and... More

Completely satisfactory. Meal was very nicely presented. Staff was professional. Alain was very accommodating with moving our choice of tables. The restaurant is very homey and warm. Noise level was boisterous but tolerable. Seems that this will be the "go to" place in Rockland

Just dined here as part of Restaurant week and definitely will be back! Great Service, I ordered the goat cheese salad and the Arctic Char. Absolutely divine. Alain went out of his way to make us feel welcome. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. Enjoy if you decide to go! I highly recommend and will be back.

Thoroughly enjoyable place for diner. I love sweetbreads and there are not too many places that make it and do a good job of making...Alains does.
