Great dinner on a busy night

Three of us dined on a busy Saturday night and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. From the steak tartare to the sweetbreads to the pate all were well well satisfied with a meal in Nyack that you can only find at Alain's. Service was excellent and even fun!

I know some people are put off by the store front location... but once you step into Alain's Bistro you are whisked away to a little slice of French heaven. The food is truly expertly prepared and delicious. Whether its Steak Frites, Moules, or one of their fabulous fish presentations... the food is truly yummy. I have enjoyed intimate dinners... More

Alains French Bistro is lovely. The atmosphere is very nice for a romantic evening or just friends dining. The food is fabulous and the service is very attentive. I had braised short ribs that were the best I have ever had. I have been there before and will continue to come back.

oh my god- these people can cook! do not listen to the negative reviews and take it from a girl who was raised in a french home. The boullabaise tasted like the ocean and the sunny climate in Provence. The mussels were just the best I've tasted - my dad's were amazing but that little bit of cream added to... More

Met friends for dinner. Excellent french food. Endive, beets and pair salad topped with gorgonzola cheese was delicious as was our second course foie gras terrine with quince marmalade. The bouillabaisse was very good. My husband ordered the venison shank melt in your mouth delish. The wait staff was attentive and accommodating. One of the entrees came with lentils which... More

I previously reviewed this restaurant but went back with my daughter and found it to be even better than before. Service was professional and timely and the only negative thing is that it is in a difficult place to park in. The food is reasonable and well thought out. I had Foie de veau(liver) perfectly done with beautiful potatoes and... More

I wanted it to be horrible because it is in a strip mall! My husband’s choice AND it was his birthday. What a snob I am. The owner greeted us and sat us immediately but had we been 5 minutes later, we would've waited 30 minutes plus. Every table was filled and I know why - THE FOOD OOOHHHHH la... More

Based on TripAdvisor we went here, walking distance from Super 8 in Nyack (spend money on food, not hotel rooms!) Unlikely location in strip mall with mixed martial arts, health spa, and computer repair. Despite Parisian pictures inside, Alain is from Alsace and menu has several Alsatian dishes as well as coq au vin - rare when we lived in... More

We've been there now at least 4 times and have quite enjoyed it each time. This time we went for restaurant week. We were pleased to see the place busy - they do such a great job on the food. We were quite happy with the restaurant week menu - we had the pate and French onion soup for starters,... More
