ASSYRTICO Wine Restaurant was born on the top floor of a 60’s mansion in Fira, overlooking the famous Caldera. The menu offers alternative and innovative suggestions of the Greek Cuisine, using mainly local and selected products from around Greece. The same philosophy inspired the restaurant’s wine list. A wide variety of wines from Santorini, the rest of Greece and the whole world can be explored in Assyrtico’s unique Wine Cellar!

I haven't understood why Oia is famous for its sunset views. You don't get to see the setting sun from most of Oia as it faces south rather than the west. The best place in Santorini to watch the sunset is the promenade in Fira that starts from Hotel Atlantis and goes in the direction of the twin town of... More

We stumbled on this restaurant courtesy of "Norman the Greek" who owns a quality jewellery shop nearby. His recommendation proved inspirational. We sat outside on a lovely upstairs terrace overlooking the bay and the Caldera as the famous sunset drew near . Excellent varied menu and wine list . As I am not familiar with Santorini wines the waitress chose... More

My wife and I went to Assyrtico without making a reservation, but were offered an excellent table with a wonderful view of the Caldera. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in choosing which wine to accompany dishes. We went back for a further two more evenings, the food was as good as the service. The rib-eye steak cooked in... On our last night in Santorini we had booked a restaurant across the island, but did not want to make the trek. We asked our lovely hotel manager about places nearby, and he recommended Assyrtico. After eating an abundance of Greek food (this was our 11th day in Greece) we were pleased to see a few traditional items with a... More

First of all this place lacks strongly in atmosphere. The service was really poor with fake smiles and sensation they want you to eat and leave ASAP . We felt so after two minutes and sorry we had not left! Many of the items in the menu were not available, the wine was poor and the food mediocre. The setting... More

We happened upon Assyrtico for sunset when we noticed the balcony. While the menu looked a little pricey, it had some enticing options, so we went for it. We were greeted by a server who came to the table and asked us if we'd like water, so we ordered some. He came again with the water, with no menu. So... More

This was a surprisingly good restaurant. We ate there twice during the holiday and were impressed both times. Its not overly "Greek" but it does have some greek food on the menu. Its not cheap, 90 euros for the two of us with a bottle of red wine (the one from Thrace is very nice). Lovely views from the front... More

I've dined here a few times with friends and have had a wonderful experience each time. Delicious rib eye and mushroom risotto is a must. Excellent service. The wine room is a pleasant bonus to it's already beautiful decor.

Came here two times: last year and this July during my stay on Santorini. I red about this restaurant in Food & Wine Magazine and was not disappointed. This is one of the newer restaurants in Fira. Both times I really loved the meal. Especially memorable was technique in preparation of fava – unexpected orange flavor and fresh topping of... More

Very friendly and attentive service, more classy than the usual Greek restaurant. The cuisine is also a tad more creative. We had excellent appetizers (that pushed the bill), and we opted for a modern style hamburger on pita bread and with home made ketchup. Very tasty. Excellent choices of wine, including a very good, fresh and vibrant local bubbly made... More
