We had an excellent fish platter here and, in spite of criticisms about the staff in other reviews, we found them to be attentive and helpful. Also the comments about the smell from the donkey trail were completely exaggerated and it was very enjoyable watching them wind their way up the trail.

This place never fails to impress. I have been eating at this restaurant on every trip to santorini over the past 5 years. The food and service are of an exceptional standard. The owner and staff are polite and go out of their way to ensure the customer is looked after.

I have been going to Santorini for 9 years now and I always have to visit Fanari during my holiday, at least once, for lunch. The food is delicious and very well presented and the view is absolutely stunning!!!! I could spend the whole day there just sipping on an ouzo sprite and watching the people pass by or the... More

It's easy to get ripped off in a beautiful place like Fira when you're looking for somewhere with a view. Fanari has the benefit of not only having a breathtaking view but also being very reasonably priced - we ended up going back because nowhere else even came close to it. The lamb shank and stuffed calamari are delicious as... More

We got to enjoy the breathtaking Santorini view of the Caldera in the main town while dining at a fascinating, traditional taverna. With their friendly service we were able to enjoy every moment of the whole experience. You must try the local dishes, fava, the white eggplant also the grilled feta and the mixed seafood platter. We had the pleasure... More

Been here for a* dinner, with swordfish menu, this lovely place only 5 minutes away from cable car station, what a* pity this place smells very bad from donkey faeces, and when we finish I realized this restaurant only few meters away from donkey station.as you know Santorini is windy during summer time, therefore I quickly finished my dinner and... The lamb and Spaghetti were amazing and the view of the sunset is great too. A meal with alcohol for 2 cost about 40 Euros and was very well worth it!

Staff is not trained, some of them don't speak english and they don't seem to be Greek. They forgot one of our meals and brought the main in the middle of the starter. Food was not good and of poor quality. Hint: don't look in the kitchen. We also tried some of the restaurant nearby, they were much better.
