My husband and I had lunch here two times during our stay in the area in June 2014. The crepes were excellent and reasonably priced. The service was quick and friendly. If we return to Chateauneuf in the future, we'll be back there again...

Stopped by for lunch and had both savoury and sweet pancakes (ate far too much) last day of our Burgundy holiday and a "must do" was some french crepes. Very tasty food in lovely surroundings. The village and castle is worth a detour.

Good French menu with reasonable prices. Wine list has half bootlegs of burgundy wine in the back, so don't miss them. Large portions of everything. Great crepe choice. The cheeries in custard was large enough for two. The proprietor's wife is English, so it was fun to converse with her.

WE love this chef's food. He had been supplying us with salads and quiche and desserts all week on our barge cruise. So, when we were told we were eating at his restaurant we were drooling at the prospect. I highly recommend this restaurant! I love his homemade pate. The wine list is fantastic. But the best were the crepe desserts.... More

Always difficult to find in places which are tourist orientated, but probably the pick of the restaurants in Chateauneuf. We were there in low season (early October), with four tables in use (the Gallo-Belge, ie us, Americans, French and the Brits). Menu not massive but the home made saucisson is awesome and well recommended. The wine list is also very... More

There are a few restaurants in Chateauneuf village but we were pleased we chose this one. We were a bit confused when we arrived as to whether we were going to be seated or if we were supposed to just choose a table but that was just due to the language barrier I think. The restaurant itself is in a... More

Wonderful old building in the heart of lovely Chateauneuf - we sat outside on the few summertime terrace tables, but the interior with a huge fireplace, old photos and ancient wooden beams makes me wish it was wintertime (we'll be back) Very good burgundy lunch plate of local meats, cheeses and a leafy salad which they upgraded on request with... There are several choice in the little village that surrounds the towering chateau but we chose this one because it looked the nicest. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent. Portions were generous. And unlike many French restaurants the food came fairly quickly -- nice given that we were trying to take in a few sights that day. Be sure... More

We had lunch at L’Oree du Bois in Chateauneuf, Burgundy in late May 2013. It was a cold and not particularly bright day yet the warmth of the welcome and the great atmosphere and food helped make our visit to Chateauneuf memorable. This is a small village – it doesn’t show up in many American guidebooks – but the Chateau... More
