there's a lot to be said for gordy harper's, located in a former family-owned farm market... can't question the likes of chicken & biscuits and pot roast, but there are enough geejaws and knick-knacks between the serving area and the entrances to put one in mind of cracker barrell

Gordie Harper's is an eclectic little place in Newfane, NY on the way to the lake. The restaurant is a dressed up diner with good food. The bread is all homemade and the Sunday specials range from Chicken and Biscuits, Turkey, Ham and Pot Roast. They all are delicious and Sunday dinner is $10.99 which includes a salad, entree with... Well if you are going to Olcott you must stop here, have a delicious meal and brought home several loaves of the homemade bread for friends. Cool place to shop, it is huge and great if you are looking for something different out of the usual.

Others have mentioned the food. I just bought pastries. They were ginormous. 2 or 3 can share. But my favorite part was browsing the dozens of shops/ stalls attached to the restaurant. Filled the trunk with Lots of stuff I couldn't live without.

Went here with family for breakfast and we all were very happy with our visit. They have excellent food at excellent prices! Our server took great care of us. They also have a lot of delicious looking sweets and pies available in the front lobby area for purchase. Definitely a must stop eatery if you are in the area.

We had breakfast at Gordie Harper's twice, both times were Fantastic!! Large portions, great food, and very reasonably priced! The servers were very personable and friendly. Be sure to check out the freash baked pastries and browse the shops. We found a few antique train pieces and a little red wagon we couldn't live without!

We love going to Gordie's - especially for a fish fry. Gordie's is very consistent and has a big selection of American diner-type food on their menu. Their prices are very fair and they accept credit cards. The service is always good and fast and we always enjoy our visit. After your meal there are a bunch of boutique shops... More

Starving, only restaurant around except McDonald's! From FL was a bit nervous but needed to eat. Reuben and meatloaf dinner was great and the beef barley soup was also great. Baked goods to go that were also excellent. Reuben on homemade pumpernickel bread was great. Try it, you will be surprised.

Home cooking! Food is very good & portions are hearty. Staff is very friendly. Atmosphere is very home-y. When you are done with your meal you could spend a couple hours looking around at all the shops inside the restaurant. You will find everything from candy to clothing to gifts for all occasions.

My mechanic told me about this place knowing how I love to travel and explore. He said I'd like it and he was right. It was a pleasant drive in the country with some fun shopping at the end of it. I wandered around the stalls for about an hour before my friend showed up (I purposely came early). There... More
