We used to visit this restaurant frequently before their sister restaurant, Cena 2000, opened on the Newburgh waterfront. We stopped going to Cena 2000 because the service was inconsistent, there was always a 20 to 30 minute wait even with a reservation and they ran out of a lot of their specials by 7:00 on a Saturday night! Based on... More

Caponata and crunchy Italian bread to start, as a very large, very tasty amuse bouche (or however you say it in Italian). Sizeable list of wonderful appetizers from octopus salad to smoked trout -- all perfectly prepared. Four guests, all delighted with veal shoulder, linguini Bolognese, rigatoni with hot and sweet sausage. Gelato, flourless chocolate torte, coffee. Some noise, but... More

liked: cozy atmosphere, friendly staff disliked: service seemed disorganized, everybody who worked there served us; waiter didn't know anything about names or locations of wines; food a bit too salty for my taste

My husband and I discovered this restaurant a year or two ago and have been in love ever since. We have been there several times and have yet to have a bad dish or less than perfect service. Although all the staff is excellent, Cricket is nothing short I perfection. The way she describes the specials makes you want to... More

This place isn't easy to find, but its well worth the trip. The best meal I ever had in my life was here. Its menu is northern Italian, not a red sauce chicken parm kind of Italian place but one with elegant service and great food. Its a bit pricey, I have only been there for special occassions, but its... More

This was our second time dining at this gem. Our group was six in number and we had convened for a college reunion. Needless to say since we had dined here before we were anxious to return. We were not disappointed from the moment we walked in the door we were greeted by friendly staff and seated a the perfect... More

We have enjoyed this restaurant over the years and always found their food to be exceptionally delicious. I am not sure if management has changed or the chef or both, or whether it was an off night for them. We waited 45 minutes for our appetizers to arrive though only three other tables were occupied on a Thursday evening. The... More

The restaurant has a very intimate feel to it. Traveling alone I ate at the bar where the service was very good. The server had an intimate knowledge of the menu and steered me to a very nice dinner of Pomodoro Salad and Rigatoni along with the house Cab. All were fresh and very tasty - expertly served with efficiency... More

My family and I have been traveling up and down I-87 for years and have lived through more mediocre meals than I care to admit. That is, until we visited I'l Cena'Cola. It was a Sunday evening around dinner time when hunger pangs hit as we were driving south. Newburgh seemed to fit as a destination so we searched TA... More
