The chicken, catfish and mac cheese was absolutely delicious, but the peach cobbler was not cooked and the dough tasted bland. I cant believe they cant make good peach cobbler which is such an easy dish. Aslo, the red velvet cupcake was not tasty - they need to change the batter on both items.

Came here unexpectedly and was pleasantly surprised! Big portions that you can share at home. The bbq beef was AMAZING!!!!! The fried fish was fried perfectly...only problem was it needed more seasoning and salt. It was very bland...but other than that every single thing was perfect! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!!! The decor is very nice, but the... More

We have eaten here a few times in the past few years and love the food. The food quality is very high. The fried items taste light and are fried well - - you do not get that greasy oily taste that you can sometimes get with fried food. My favorite is the fried catfish. And the sweet potatoes are... We have been regular patrons since 2009 and we have witnessed the transformation of not only one small place to sit and enjoy a scrumptious meal of short ribs of beef, mac-n-chesse and collard greens (to name some of our favorites), to include the new addition "La Grande" just a few doors away. The sheer elegance of the room compliments... More

We were visiting New Rochelle to see my nephew and his fiance and to meet her family. I had suggested Sweet Potoatoes because a few in our party liked fried catfish so we wanted to see if the fish would be as good as it is in southern restaurants and Cracker Barrel. It was better! Coming into the place we... More

I've been coming to this restaurant from the day they opened, and while I love the food, the service has gone from bad (on a good day) to worse. The wait for food to take out is at least 45 minutes, and the online ordering module is a waste of time. In addition, there is no delivery. How can that... More

The location isn't ideal and the restaurant is small (looks like they are expanding though), but the food was fantastic. We did take-out and just about everything we had was great. We had the chicken & waffles and the short-ribs for our entrees with cornbread, sweet potato fries and mac-n-cheese for our sides. With the exception of the mac-n-cheese (not... More

Food is good and nice to see that they're expanding the restaurant. Location isn't that great and parking used to be awful, but it looks like they're changing that now. Food is pretty good and look forward to our next visit.

They can be a bit slow. However, this place has delicious soul food. I highly recommend them. Although there is seating, I wouldn't suggest eating in as it's so small people waiting for take-out will be breathing on your food.
