Wonderful drinks, food and atmosphere. My nicoise salad was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and of course Alvin is charming. I love the new space!

We made a reservations at Alvin's via Opentable for Sunday evening at 6:30pm to celebrate my MIL's birthday. We reserved here specifically because we thought MIL would enjoy southern cuisine and live music for her birthday and we had been here several times before. There isn't enough space here to recount what happened. Long story short, there was a special... More

Asked for filet mignon medium rare - served medium well. Molten lava cake tasted heavy and was unfortunately lacking something. Service was first rate; host was hospitable.

The Southern and Caribbean mix of food at Alvin & Friends is good, but what makes the place is the friendliness of host Alvin. He or his wife will likely stop by your table for a chat during your meal.

We had 3 courses for $26. The restaurant was quite full and the noise volume was high. There was a piano player and we could hear him even back in the corner. We had grilled peaches with mango salad -- Very nice with a balsamic dressing I had the garlic lime roasted chicken and my friend had ox tails with... More

The restaurant is spacious and Alvin's art is quite good. Wish I could say the same about the food and service which was not.

Who would have thought that a small restaurant in Westchester county's New Rochelle could produce fried oysters to die for, and fried chicken that your Mom wish she had made! A truly delightful restaurant, recently moved to much larger quarters to accommodate a growing, enthusiastic clientele. A wonderful reason to go to downtown New Rochelle, "the queen city on the... Had lunch today at Alvin and Friends and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect. Food was yummy: I had a delicious crab cake sandwich and my friend's fried chicken was fabulous ! The restaurant is very spacious and pretty with beautiful colorful paintings all around ( found out later that that the owner, Alvin, was the artist!) The staff was very courteous... More

Wish there were 10 stars available! The ambiance is perfect and Alvin is a wonderful host. He gave us lots of personal attention as did all the staff. The service was top notch. We started with a rum punch. Trust me, there's a reason it's their signature drink and it's a must for anyone who goes there. We had a... More
