Alvin and Friends is a true delight; wonderful ambiance--original Matisse-inspired artwork by the host/owner himself; live entertainment, superior service, and fabulous food. Started with white sangria, which was delicious. Outstanding apps were curried chicken soup, two kinds of wings and a savory crabcake; and for dessert, don't miss is the shortbread cookies with two dipping sauces--best I ever ate! Don't... More

The owner is very chummy with all of the patrons but if you have a negative comment he just walks away silently

Alvin & Friends is a treat for your mouth. Alvin and staff manage to blend caribbean, jazz, and Southern flares effortlessly. The Sunday jazz brunch is delicious to the palate and to the ears. I have visited Alvin's on numerous occasions and I have never had a bad meal. The owner often checks on patrons to ensure an enjoyable and... More

We ate at Alvin's last Saturday, not for a special event but the hospitality made it seem special. The three of us had two starters, three entrees, two desserts, and a very good time. The food was tasty and earned high marks, especially the fried chicken and the creole seafood linguine. The service was fine and included a lengthy visit... More

Wonderful drinks, food and atmosphere. My nicoise salad was amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and of course Alvin is charming. I love the new space!

We made a reservations at Alvin's via Opentable for Sunday evening at 6:30pm to celebrate my MIL's birthday. We reserved here specifically because we thought MIL would enjoy southern cuisine and live music for her birthday and we had been here several times before. There isn't enough space here to recount what happened. Long story short, there was a special... More

Asked for filet mignon medium rare - served medium well. Molten lava cake tasted heavy and was unfortunately lacking something. Service was first rate; host was hospitable.

The Southern and Caribbean mix of food at Alvin & Friends is good, but what makes the place is the friendliness of host Alvin. He or his wife will likely stop by your table for a chat during your meal.

We had 3 courses for $26. The restaurant was quite full and the noise volume was high. There was a piano player and we could hear him even back in the corner. We had grilled peaches with mango salad -- Very nice with a balsamic dressing I had the garlic lime roasted chicken and my friend had ox tails with... More

The restaurant is spacious and Alvin's art is quite good. Wish I could say the same about the food and service which was not.
