Nice, good Mole

The restaurant was quiet on a cold mid-week evening, but the food was great and the cocktails are good as well. I had the Chili Relleno with mole and it was excellent, I would surely order this again, but also look forward to trying other dishes. The service was friendly and prompt, and the... read more

The service here is friendly, but the food is mediocre...didn't have a heck of a lot of flavor, but it was ok. Plus, they don't offer free refills of soda or iced tea (they charge $2.50 each). But what I found to be an abomination was when we got the check. We were only a party of three -- for... More

Convenient location across the street from New Roc. Authentic Mexican. Extensive menu and friendly service. Try the ceviche appetizer. Good mojito. Reasonably priced. Child-friendly

I stayed at the hotel across the street and decided to try this place. It was average at best. The chips and salsa they served was like the Cassadia (sp?). The chips didn't have much to them and the salsa had absolutely no flavor. On top of that the wait staff (2 people) acted as if they could have cared... More

Horrible Service and the food made me sick for like 3 days. Omar the night server decided to charge me over 25% more without my consent, when I wanted to ask him why he did that? He said because my wife didn't tip him a month ago on a $12 dollar charged. When we check the bank account she had... More

I decided to come to El Tio on a whim -- just needed something to eat on a Saturday night and I'm so glad I did. Quick service, plenty of food choices and delicious food. Good portions and reasonably priced. I had the enchiladas suizas (chicken) & they were DELICIOUS! They came with guac, sour cream & salsa...and the combination... More

So I've know, el tio restaurant for about 20 years, they started in Port Chester, back then when the food was good and this restaurant was owner operated, when they opened the New Rochelle restaurant we were happy and we started to visit this restaurant, ever since the beginning the service has been super slow so if you go there... If you had to ask to be helped and serviced then it's not a good restaurant. There was no hostess to greet you. Employers had walked right by without acknowledging you. Maybe they were overwhelmed because of the crowd. Finally sat down. No waiter came by to greet us. 15 minutes went by without being acknowledged. Didn't get the free... More

My first impression of the building should have deterred me from stepping into this restaurant but I thought I should give it a try. The chips that were brought to our table were soggy and the dishes and utensils at our table had specks of food on them. The pedestrian food was a disappointment. The only kind thing I can... More
