This is a nice place for a date or conversation with a friend. Not good for a group. You are lucky to get a drink or food after 9PM, as they say the kitchen is closed. I felt like we were keeping them from closing, and this was at 9:15PM on a Saturday night! You don't want to go there... More

This is an old review....maybe about two to three year old....I forgot to submit but want to have my say. My wife visited New Paltz while looking for a soap company and didn't want to eat at the "college people" places....we needed a mature setting. We found this place and had a great meal and the atmosphere was mature enough... More

I wouldn´t recommend this place to anyone. The service was good but the food was awful. I ordered pasta Alfredo and and had to leave everything, in fact it was so bad it became a joke:-) The portion was so large, something we´re not use to in Europé.

We celebrated my sons graduation from college on the actual graduation day, which means there was a huge crowd in an ordinarily small town restaurant. The service was good, considering how many tables were being served. The staff could only do so much to make up for the minor delays from the kitchen. I understood that going in, and had... More

My husband and I happened to find ourselves in New Paltz on a day trip from our weekend home in Dingmans Ferry, PA. It was as a nice drive and on our way we stopped by Mohonk Mountain House. We got there a bit late to buy a day pass which would allow us entrance to the facility and have... More

It was about 15 of us & they put us upstairs alone. We were able 2 enjoy the atmosphere w/o interfering w/ anyone's dinner. We had steaks, chicken, seafood & pasta dishes. Now when I feel like a steak I don't have 2 go far. My steak was medium & delicious. My mother, my 2 sisters & my eldest daughter... More

I found the atmosphere to be rustic, but nice. Our server was friendly and kept us informed about our meals. The food itself was average at best. There wasn't anything about it that would make me want to go back. My shrimp was overcooked and tough.

Very nice historic building, great atmosphere inside, tucked away on a route 32 just outside of the busy hustling Main St of New Paltz. The menu has a little something for everyone & very fair prices. I had stuffed sole for $20. My plate came with 2 huge pieces of stuffed sole, potatoes & salad. All in our group were... More

When visiting our daughter in New Paltz each year, we try to take them out to dinner a couple of times. We returned this year to Barnaby's Steakhouse and for sure are not disappointed. We were greeted promptly, waited a few minutes at the bar for our table and the bar tender was very friendly and prompt. We were seated... More
