Nice local restaurant for lunch

Took a detour off the NY State Thruway and were delighted to find the Village Tea Room. It turned out to be an excellent choice for an impromptu lunch. The chicken salad sandwich along with the squash soup and the hearty kale salad really hit the spot. Everything seemed fresh and flavorful. It... read more

I am grateful to the recommendation for Village TeaRoom. Everyone was great, the food was delicious, and the ambience was charming. Our group of five appreciated the flexibility of dining outside and then moving to a cozy place inside when the summer showers surprised us all. A delightful experience.

We had a birthday dinner here after a recommendation from a local friend and were not disappointed. The menu features locally sourced and prepared dishes artfully presented. There was an excellent array of seasonal cocktails and drinks, I had a lovely grapefruit inspired cocktail I highly recommend but sadly do not recall the name. We both tried the cod cakes... More

Well we have been here before and there is always an issue with the service the wait staff are inexperienced. We can sit at the table for 10 mins before you get a menu then you get water in another 10 mins it will be 30 mins before you even order. Salads are fresh this time had a ask for... More

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend in New Paltz celebrating our anniversary and our first stop when we arrived was to have lunch at the Village Tearoom. It was a beautiful spring day so we chose to eat outside on the large porch. The inside looked perfect for a cozy intimate dinner. We both thoroughly enjoyed... More

My wife and I recently stopped by the Tea Room for dinner last night. The food was excellent (my wife had the salmon & I had the short ribs, both off of the regular menu). Service was exceptional. Our server, I believe her name was Chelsea, really took care of us. If you love pate, like I do, try the... More

I went for lunch. I had 1/2 sandwich and soup. The black bean and red pepper soup was watery with a very mild flavor, I prefer it thicker and bolder. Bad thing about it though was that I found a hair in it towards the end. I also had the chicken salad sandwich - LOVE IT! I have had this... More

This quaint restaurant has top quality dining choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is not a bad choice on the menu. And make sure you do not leave without trying one of their bakery treats with a pot of tea!

Beautiful and delicious desserts with really good tea are served in this tiny restaurant, with six downstairs tables. Our reserved table for three was ready for us. We did not feel rushed as we enjoyed a welcome break after visiting some of the historic homes along the Hudson River that were decorated for Christmas. Check out the excellent website for... More
