Nice local restaurant for lunch

Took a detour off the NY State Thruway and were delighted to find the Village Tea Room. It turned out to be an excellent choice for an impromptu lunch. The chicken salad sandwich along with the squash soup and the hearty kale salad really hit the spot. Everything seemed fresh and flavorful. It... read more

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend in New Paltz celebrating our anniversary and our first stop when we arrived was to have lunch at the Village Tearoom. It was a beautiful spring day so we chose to eat outside on the large porch. The inside looked perfect for a cozy intimate dinner. We both thoroughly enjoyed... More

My wife and I recently stopped by the Tea Room for dinner last night. The food was excellent (my wife had the salmon & I had the short ribs, both off of the regular menu). Service was exceptional. Our server, I believe her name was Chelsea, really took care of us. If you love pate, like I do, try the... More

I went for lunch. I had 1/2 sandwich and soup. The black bean and red pepper soup was watery with a very mild flavor, I prefer it thicker and bolder. Bad thing about it though was that I found a hair in it towards the end. I also had the chicken salad sandwich - LOVE IT! I have had this... More

This quaint restaurant has top quality dining choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is not a bad choice on the menu. And make sure you do not leave without trying one of their bakery treats with a pot of tea!

We stopped here for lunch while passing through the area. We were not disappointed. It was a great meal. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

Beautiful and delicious desserts with really good tea are served in this tiny restaurant, with six downstairs tables. Our reserved table for three was ready for us. We did not feel rushed as we enjoyed a welcome break after visiting some of the historic homes along the Hudson River that were decorated for Christmas. Check out the excellent website for... More

On we showed for a quick lunch. It was busy. The staff took sometime to find a table. We enjoyed the tea. Quarters are tight. No room to spare. Good quality food from local sources.

My husband has been trying to take me to the Tea Room for quite some time. Finally the stars aligned and we decided to go after work. Today was a chilly, wet, day in the Hudson Valley and the Restaurant was warm and cozy. Although it was Saturday and we didn't have a reservation, we were quickly seated in their... More

Took a four mile walk on the Walkway over the Hudson, a beautiful old railroad bridge converted into a breathtaking walkway spanning the Hudson River, between Highland and Poughkeepsie, New York. Hungry, we sought sustenance at the Village Tea Room in New Paltz. Hole in the Wall? Yes, very much so, but despite the very small eating area, the cook... More
