'The Bistro' as it is known to us locals, is the heart and soul of this unique and endearingly quirky college town, just 90 mins from NYC. This has been our favorite breakfast spot, in the world, for over 30 years, and it just happens to be in our own town! Many of the excellent staff that run the place... More

I had the eggs benedict and a side order of turkey sausage, two mornings in a row. One of the best breakfasts I've had. Also ate there for lunch on day. Not as impressive as breakfast, but still good.

This is a very trendy place in a college town. The breakfast crowd is huge with a line out the door by 9:00 a.m. There is always a blackboard full of breakfast specials.

On a recent visit to New Paltz, we stopped in to have Sunday brunch at The Main Street Bistro. We have heard great things about this eatery. We have had dinner many times in New Paltz and missed the chance to eat here as it is only open for Breakfast and lunch. As it was a Sunday afternoon we jumped... More

Had lunch there today. Really disappointed. The garden vegetable soup was mostly corn and rice. Ordered a veggie burger that was still cold. Server was glad to have it heated. It wasn't very good. Server confirmed not homemade. It was a Bocca or some other packaged brand. Hot water for tea was lukewarm. Won't be going back.

I decided to write some reviews of places to eat in the town I live in. The Main Street Bistro is absolutely in the top 10, maybe the top 5. It is a busy, crowded but comfortable, downtown place to catch breakfast or lunch. They have fabulous delicious food and a combination breakfast/lunch menu that is the same all day... More

It's busy, they don't mind telling you what they think and if your whole party is not there, you ain't sitting down but the food is great and it's a fun place. It's busy, it's a college town, it's not expensive and I love breakfast there. Good choice.

The atmosphere is local pub. The initial young guy that showed us to the table was abrupt & crude but the waiter was great. Just had a lite lunch. The corn chowder was ok. A bit watery and did not get to the table hot. The chicken Quesadillas was very good. Prices were reasonable. We recommend this place.
