Kid-friendly, once you get a table!

I read all the other reviews on here about how long the line is to get in, but thought I could beat the system by going at 11 a.m. on a weekday. No such luck! We still waited in a line that stretched to the sidewalk, mainly because the restaurant is tiny, but also because the service is casual... read more

I first moved to New Paltz as a student the same year the bistro opened - 1993. As a big fan of Murphy's Law, I always loved the roots of the place. I frequented the Bistro in my college years, mostly for noon-time breakfast, and have returned many times over the years since I moved out of town. Fast forward... More

The friendly atmosphere, the food, the funky-art ... this place has it all. The meals are excellent for breakfast [pancakes a favorite] as well as lunch [Peacemaker sandwich]. You can NOT go wrong in this place & you will leave smiling & happy & with a full tummy. If you get a chance to meet the iconic owner [Doug, the... More

Nothing much to say other than simply superb! Everything is excellent. Beware of long wait times on the Weekends.

You might not expect a local climber and college kid hang-out to serve fresh, delicious and abundant food - but the Bistro does! You'll have a bit of a wait on a weekend but it's worth it to eavesdrop on the latest climbing conditions. A great local institution run by people who support just about every local non-profit in town.... More

The place is a bit of a mess with a handful of tables, a counter with stools and a line out the door. I had the salmon hash: well prepared, fresh salmon, potatoes and onions topped with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce. It was delicious. I wanted iced yea; they did not have brewed tea. I wanted orange juice: it... More

So every time I come to The Main Street Bistro, I tell myself, "Order something new!!" But the fact of the matter is, The Trailblazer is awesome and as I know everything else on their menu is equally as awesome, I can't get enough of The Trailblazer. The Bistro has has something for everyone! Vegans, vegetarians, omnivores, carnivores......they can satisfy... More

My wife, daughter and I visited a friend who attends SUNY New Paltz and asked her to join us at her favorite brunch spot. She immediately chose Main Street Bistro and we couldn't have been happier with her selection. I think we lucked out by arriving mid-Saturday afternoon because we got a table right away and the service was fast... More

OK, so you can have your Ritz Carlton brunch and incredible feasts around the Caribbean but there is no place with the atmosphere, good food, creative local dishes and wonderful owners like the Main St Bistro. These people are REAL, smiling and work hard to make the place a mainstay of the community. Their contributions to the community and its... More

Definitely the best home fries I've ever had. All the food on the menu is delicious, but most importantly The Breakfast Special. For only $2 you get home fries, eggs, and toast!
