From the moment you pull into the drive way, you're transported into an entirely different world. The views from the windows of the Unadilla River are breath taking. I could spend hours watching the birds and cray fish. On occasion I've even seen deer walking along the river edge. From the time you sit down, you're given course after course... More

10 of us from across the country found our way without gps to this charming riverside homespun restaurant. A wonderful waitress Janelle kept attention to our group. Too much very good food followed and a chance to enjoy ourselves in this little country inn. No nouvelle cuisine here. Instead bring a hearty appetite and a wallet for a square deal.

I was astonished when reading the dlbrownny review of this fine restaurant and felt compelled to add our family's experience just the previous week at The Old Mill. We were touring mid New York state visiting the Finger Lake district and Niagara Falls before flying home from Toronto. We found The Old Mill to be the best dining experience of... More

The food was from a can (Instant mashed potatoes) and gravy. The martinis were served in extremely small glasses. The best part of the dinner was the relish tray - at least that was fresh. The shrimp and cheese dish was mostly cheese. Very disapointed in our meal and we had 7 people so it was not just one bad... More

After years of hearing about the Old Mill we finally visited it for dinner early on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. Despite the fact that our companions had been there several times, the greeting we received was a bit less than warm. We were kept standing around the hostess station for 10 minutes and then the hostess wasn't sure she... More

We sat by the window and looked out at the river, it was so beautiful and peaceful. Lovely rooms and a small gift shop with locally made food and gifts. The food was wonderful. First came cheese and crackers, next the assorted salads. A kidney bean salad that was great, fruit salad, coleslaw and cottage cheese and pickles. Then our... More

My husband and I sat by the window looking at the wonderful river view at the Old Mill Restaurant. We are always greeted so pleasantly and they always remember our names no matter how long it is between visits. I enjoyed the eggplant ratatouille with chicken, and my husband had the weekend special, prime rib dinner. This was our anniversary,... More

This is my favorite local restaurant. The building did house an old mill. It is on the river; ask for a window seat & watch the wildlife. The food is sumptuous & you get so much, you will bring half your meal home. First you are served cheddar cheese & crackers; after that a relish tray with homemade delicacies, true... More

Mt. Upton, NY is an unprepossessing little town in Chenango County, on Route 8. We had driven past The Old Mill dozens of times, usually while blasting along on the last leg of a trip home from NYC, and had long wanted to stop but were always in a hurry. We could not help noticing, though, that the the place... More

We were just coming back in the area on our way home and found this charming restaurant. It is probably 1 1/2 hours from our home but we will be back. No reservation - no problem. Our server, Linda, was great. The cheese and crackers to start along with the appetizer tray and rolls and butter just get you ready... More
