Great introduction to a lovely cuisine

We tried the sampler and found it to be delicious. One recommendation is it contains 3 wat dishes made with different meats and although they were very good, the sauces are basically the same. We loved the food here: it was fresh and very tasty and nicely spiced. However the vegetarian sampler for two was so meager it was really more for one person. The scoops wee about a cup's worth. I'm used to getting much bigger servings at Ethiopian restaurants in NYC and DC.

In cocktail party battles for foodie supremacy, Ethiopian cuisine usually makes for the knockout punch. Don't let this happen to you - visit Lalibela. Likely the food represents a leading example of this cuisine with spicy chicken, lamb and beef strongly spiced with chilies and garlic. In this case, however, the cuisine presents some institutional limitations as it concerns only... More

I cannot say enough about Lalibela! The food is delicious, the service is very good, and the restaurant is clean and well looked after. I have eaten in over a dozen different Ethiopian restaurants around North America and I must say that consistently the food here is some of the best I have had, it is savory and has amazing... More

This is an amazing little ethiopian restaurant located right in Mt Kisco, NY. We went with a party of 6 and decided to eat family style so that we were all able to try all the dishes in one visit. There wasn't a bad dish between us. My husbands only complaint was that the portions are on the small side... More

This is among the best Ethiopian I have had (among six restaurants around the country) and the restaurant is bright and inviting with interesting photographs from Ethiopia. The menu is fairly typical of what I've had elsewhere, and every item we had was excellent. service is very friendly, accommodating and attentive. They have wine and beer available. Gluten free injera... More

As many others before me have stated, we weren't sure what to expect. I was hesitant to go, but I figured, worst case scenario, I wouldn't go back. Well....I'm going back. I'm a vegetarian while my wife is not. We started our meal with the falafel and timatin salad. Excellent! My wife said her chicken dish (doro tibs) was perfectly... More

My wife and I went here one night for dinner to try something different. Neither of us had every had Ethiopian food before, so we thought we would try it out. All of the dishes come with injera (thin bread) on huge plates. We started with the avocado salad and it was delicious. For our main entree we shared the... More

I haven't had Ethiopian food since I was in college, and so when I saw that there was an Ethiopian restaurant in Mount Kisco, I made time to stop in. I am SO glad I did. I arrived pretty early -- I was the only person in the place for dinner -- but the Doro Wat was absolutely delicious --... More

We LOVE this place. We love the small footprint, the attentive staff, the style of eating and the great quality of food. Prices are reasonable, and the food is prepared rapidly. No compalints. Great spot!
