If one's serious about food Niles is rather unique, certainly of the high end places available, say 40 mile radius, its a special place, small, charming, eclectic food choices beautifully cooked. Peter. Moravia.

.. our discovery of this Fingerlakes gem with friends so we returned for another dinner with a foodie couple. It was exquisite on the tastee-buds once again. (We were the only diners that evening so we had Eric and Sandie's full attention.) The menu is ever-changing as I keep noting from their email updates. i only wish Moravia, NY was... More

What makes me a food critic? Nothing formal, except that I am an Italian American used to real family meals, excellent food, freshly and imaginatively prepared. I am also a health nut, so fresh food, ingredients from the earth un-tainted by additives is what I cook and eat. Thirdly, i love Nature and all of its settings......Add that up and... More

We were greeted by Eric, who is a great host. This is a fantastic quiet slow dining experience. The food is varied and creative and changes to the menu are made daily. Sandie is incredibly talented!

My wife and I were told about this lovely dining experience and we were very definitely NOT disappointed. Sandie's cooking is chef quality and more, Eric has a Basil Falty quality with humour. It really is a place for people who like good food, eclectic food in lovely surroundings. By the way we read the one negative review which seemed... More

For six years I wrote food reviews for The Ithaca Journal. Had written one years back about Niles Gourmet. Had dinner there with friends last night and once again, the experience was a 360 degree charming experience. Soooo, I decided to post my review from a few years back. When I traveled to Italy for a semester during college, I toured nine countries and ate what I considered some of the best food in the world - that is until I came to Niles. I have now been twice and everything I have had from their menu has exceeded my expectations. My favorite item has been Sandie's lobster and... More

This is not for those that do not appreciate the intricate beauty of an intimate dining experience; where you get to know your hosts and the source of every ingredient on your plate. Sandie and Eric tirelessly cook, converse, and serve you an amazing experience every time you step foot in their gorgeous cabin that they built by hand. Once... More

What a gem! We have spent every summer on Skaneateles Lake for the last 25 years, and we have always wondered why the Finger Lakes Region does not have the high quality cuisine of other wine regions we've visited. We were so surprised and delighted to discover the Niles Gourmet! We loved the first course, the azuki and chorizo soup,... More

If there was a rating below "terrible", I'd use it. When we (a party of 6) arrived, no table was set for us. Food was ridiculously overpriced given the stingily small quantities. A $24 salad (represented as a possible appetizer for 3 people, so we had to order 2) consisted of a bed of fresh greens, a few tiny grapes... More
