Beachy Restaurant

The atmosphere and music are wonderful. The menu is very different. I was disappointed that there were no specials. Over all a good experience for a beach weekend.

I know the title is over-the-top, but honestly, I don't like pretentious restaurants unless the food/service and drinks knock me out. My wife and I were not knocked out here. we each tried two different custom drinks created by the barmen and, unfortunately, did not like either of them. Both were very disjointed leaving you wondering "what that taste was?"... More

In the land of overpriced entrees presented with terrible service, South Edison stands far above the rest. We went with another couple, and every morsel on each of our plates was so delicious. The fact that South Edison uses locally sourced ingredients with a nouveau flair, in a comfortable trendy atpmosphere, provided by friendly attentive staff, makes you wonder why... More

This should be on your list of places to eat while in Montauk. I'm not sure why this isn't rated higher on TA. Perhaps because Montauk has that surfer dude/rustic sea side town vibes and this place is seen as close to "fine dinning" creative, innovative cuisine. The oysters were great, the seared yellowfin tuna was amazing. The Octopus tacos... More

I had the tuna and spouse had cauliflower steak. It was good but missed something. Had a grilled romaine starter that was great. Service was great and efficient. It got a bit noisy and the ambience was lacking. I think for the eye watering price, the location and good but not outstanding food lowered the rating.

Lovely decor. Great service. Food was disappointing for the prices. The smoked lobster came witha Farro salad that was not edible. Typically a lobster meal comes witha set up of bowl cracker hand wipe. You got nothing and had to deal with a mess. A overlook in an expensive restaurant. Short ribs were fatty and just ok. Needs some fine... More

This was our 1st time at South Edison and we were pleasantly surprised by the great food! The chef is very creative and mixes different foods that you wouldn't think go together. The entrees were amazing! My husband and I were going to share the tuna and the snapper, but neither one of us wanted to give up half of... More

Our first visit and we made a early reservation - a bit of a mistake as the restaurant was crowded with young families and the noise level was high. Food was good. We started with Bacon Panzanella and the BP Oysters - both very good. Entrees of Fettuccine was rich and delicious as was the Chili dusted Scallops which were... More

We have been going to South Edison every summer since it opened and this year we were extremely disappointed. The food was just average, waitress was obnoxious and it just felt 'off'. The absolute worst thing we ordered was the scallop cerviche - super salty, slimy and gross. There are a lot of great places to eat in and around... More

We recently visited South Edison with two menu items in mind. But the day's menu didn't have them. When we ordered a fresh pasta dish on the revised menu they advised that the chef wasn't ready to make it. So we ordered from what was left on a very limited menu. There wasn't much that we liked. The food was... More
