LOOKS LIKE PICCOLO POSTO WENT OUT OF BUSINESS (not surprised). (Rating based on this restaurant). Saw a "grand opening" ad for a new restaurant named "Fiesta New Mexico" in this location now (150 W. Mombasha Rd., Monroe, NY).

Stopped in this weekend for dinner, and I couldn't believe how horrible the experience was. While the wait staff was okay, the meal was less than stellar especially for the prices. I should have realized this when I heard crickets when I walked through the door. Plus I was seated right next to the entry (there is no lobby/waiting area).... More

Bring your own bottle. Reservations a must. Small intimate dining.

Cozy atmosphere. Very good food and service. A bit pricey. But I would definitely return.

As a weekly patrons of Orange County restaurants my wife and I have never had a more unpleasant dining experience. We would like to rate the food, however, we were never served. We were shown to our table, a 2 foot by 2 foot piece of wood 12 inches from the adjoining table, where we were ignored for the next... More

Ok so this place has very good food but it's not ALWAYS consistently good. Also beware if you order a pasta dish with shrimp...you get maybe 3 shrimp..kinda stingy. You also wait a LONG time for your food most of the time even if its empty. But overall a good place to eat.

Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2012: My other half and I had our Valentine’s Day dinner at Piccolo Posto, located in Monroe, NY. I had high expectations, since the majority of the various on-line reviews were positive. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. They had a limited and different menu from their website menu, which also does not list prices (a red... More

Piccolo Posto is a wonderful hidden gem. Off the beaten path, it serves up some wonderful Italian food. The atmosphere is cozy and the service is great. There is a wonderful selection on the menu and the specials are wonderful. Our favorite part of this restaurant is the BYOB. It gives us an opportunity to enjoy our most favorite bottles... More

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Piccolo Posto. The food is fresh, tasty and fairly priced. The service is excellent. It is obvious that many locals frequent this restaurant. True, it is off the beaten path but well worth the find. The owner seemed to know everyone in the place. The added advantage to this restaurant is... More

Off the main road, up in the residential hills, a little "unknown" and so worth it! The restaurant is only open on weekends in the winter, but locals go there when possible. They don't have a liquor license right now, so it's BYOB with a mid-range corkage charge. Nice lighting inside, not too bright, very personal service. Now the important... More
