Well that describes the theme of the decor. It also happens to be their specialty . The whole chicken for two is perfect ! Don't worry about it being too much . They are small chickens served with bread ,salad, and broccoli with carrots .also home made chips and fries which are good, albeit redundant .some more typical sides would have... More

Lunch in Mineola for Portuguese food. This was very good! We had: grilled calamari, came tender and perfectly done, 4 fairly large ones; also kebab, that had pork, beef, onions & peppers. Pork was a little salty [but good]. Came with rice, fries, home made potato chips, steamed carrots & broccoli. Meal starts with a salad...bread is also very good,... More

Food is on a wood burning grill - great chicken. Downside - very crowded. When calling for reservations for 9, they told us to come in 15 minutes. When we got there, there was nothing available for way over an hour.

I live right around the corner from this place. We have been eating here regularly for the past 8 years. We have tried everything on the menu, and I must say that we have enjoyed everything, especially their tasty grilled chicken. Their steaks are absolutely delicious, and their fish is very fresh. It is very crowded on weekends, and they... More

This is not a review. Just wanted to point out that you have this as both #3 and #27 in popularity in Mineola. The spelling is slightly different, but it is the same restaurant.

The place looks great , but a bit noicy, the food are very good , but a bit salty, service is excellent. If you planning to go on the weekend prepare for a long wait.

Yummy food and plenty of it! We love to come here with large groups and order many dishes to share. Potato chips are crispy and all the meat dishes are delish (especially turkey wrapped in bacon!)

We went to this restaurant with friends who love it. We went on a Tuesday night so we wouldn't have to wait. We ordered chicken for four people. What arrived looked more like Cornish hens, they were so small. It was flavorful but very salty. This was a very mediocre meal & I wouldn't go back.

An excellent neighborhood Portuguese restaurant specializing in rotisserie meats. The menu is simple, you can pick your protein (i.e., chicken, spare ribs, fish, lamb, etc.) or splurge and go for the all-you-can eat rodizio (and you can sample all of the spit-grilled meats). All dinners include a simple salad consisting of lettuce, onion and tomato in a simple vinaigrette, rice,... More

I know from experience that a very popular local place frequented by regulars can get a little lazy on its fare. Bairrada has a solid following from the local Portugese commmunity, which is why I and a colleague were disappointed with a luncheon presentation today. I ordered veal scallopine with marsala mushroom sauce and my colleague ordered half a roast... More
