Family get together

Went there with a party of 12 and it was absolutely phenomenal. We went there on a Saturday and had the price fixed menu. Nothing in the world compares to it. The quality of the food and incredibly perfect service cannot be compared to anything else in New York State. Michael stopped by to make... read more

We've been to the "Ship" several times, every time we dine there it is as professional as you can get, the wait staff is very professional, very attentive, the kitchen is fast, no long waits between courses and we didn't feel like they were rushing us along. This isn't the type of restaurant where you bring rowdy young children, this... More

Tuxedoed waiters with decades of service and expertise and decor suggestive of an old schooner dining room turns me on. Disregard earlier reviewer comments on this topic. Still one of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley. We dined yesterday during Restaurant week; surprised to see their Sunday special menu was a better deal. Ordering off both menus our party... The food, the service and the ambiance were first class. One of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley!

Unsurpassed service in a continental atmosphere. The restaurant has not changed in its high quality in the 42 years I have lived in this area.

While driving back to New Jersey from Hyde Park, NY I stumbled on the Ship Lantern Inn. I really knew nothing about the Ship Lantern Inn — I merely saw the sign and pulled into the parking lot. Once inside I could see that this was a "fine dining" kind of place. The dining room was quite busy so I... More

Majestic landmark restaurant that has been around since 1925. It still has charm and the vibe even though they haven't put any money in this place for years. Food and service is fantastic as this is a place for special occasion or even a romantic meal. Full bar enhances your experience as they will make anything you want. They offer... More

Showed up on a Tuesday evening and the place was at about half capacity. We were waiting on the other half of our party so we decided to wait in the lounge and have a drink - so glad I did because I think it helped with the next part. The lounge had food sitting out on the bar and... More

Took some clients and spouses out for dinner and everything was perfect. Their service is so good---very old school--don't get that much anymore. Menu is huge and each dish is better than the next. I recommend it as clearly the best in the area and there are other good choices. The Sea Bass is to die for.
