It was a beautiful evening to eat outdoors. The service was friendly and accommodating. Food was delicious and the presentation was lovely. Would definitely go back.

Enjoyed dinner with friend at SLI after not having dined here for about 20 years. They're definitely doing something right to still be around, and the food was good, but it might not be for everyone. They are known for excellent service, and this was still the case. Waiters all had excellent knowledge of the menu and were able to... More

This was our second time at this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is a throw back to the days when waiters wore suits, spoke intelligently, and presented themselves and the food with utmost dignity; all of the above applies here. The restaurant has been around for well over 55 years, and so have some of the waiters--really--I... More

We have visited the Ship a few times and I am overdue to review it. Let me preface by saying we went specifically to celebrate a special occasion with friends - AND to take advantage of the "early bird" special. "Early bird" at the Ship is not to be confused with the smaller portioned Senior specials in Florida. Though your... More

Today most restaurants do not give the service once held in "fine dining". We had a special occasion 17 people....food was excellent and the service was beyond anything you see in 2014! My vote is....YES to the "Ship". For the service and portions and quality....the prices are not high. If visiting in the area...do drop in!

The food and service at the "Ship" is outstanding. It is a little pricey but if you want a special dining experience in the Newburgh/Poughkeepsie area, this is the place. Same owners and key staff for decades. I would highly recommend!

I've been going here since for 40 year starting with my parents and grandparents. The food and service have remained excellent all these years. The prices are more than what you would pay at most restaurants, but it is worth a visit. They do offer some nice specials that make the visit more reasonable. The meal we had was excellent.... More

The Ship's Lantern Inn celebrates it's 89th year and remains a family business that continues to make you feel special. The wait staff (some who have been there for decades) is attentive, professional, and very familiar with the menu and helpful with recommendations. The continental cuisine is prepared with care, wonderfully seasoned and plated. Their center cut pork chop is... More
