An unexpected treat in a small backwater burg near Lake Ontario

The Eis House has had a long history in the area, and yet I'd never made it up to this charming rustic restaurant until a recent lunch with friends in the bar area. It was a cold late winter day warmed by a roaring fire, and I was told by locals to order the Gorgonzola Burger, which was excellent... read more

We have been going to the Eis House for years and always remark how lucky we are go have such an establishment in our village of Mexico. Food is outstanding, service is always great and the atmosphere is very good also. We compare it to many places in Syracuse and on our travels and always say it is the best!!!

This really the only place to eat/drink in Mexico, NY. They have changed owners fairly recently and in my opinion it's "for the better". I was never a fan of the previous ownership but the new owners certainly appear to be going in the right direction. Becky is amazing, she knows what you want and when you need it.

My husband and I decided on The Eis house for our wedding ceremony and reception. We had planned to have the ceremony outside under the beautiful arch but it rained(lucky). We simply moved it inside to the mirror room. The Eis house is gorgeous, the food was very good and the staff(especially Dustin Trimble) was amazing! We could not have been happier.Thank you so much!!!

My friends and I decided to have lunch today at EIS House. We did have to walk around the building to find a door that was opened, but it was well worth the search. Hint: It is the bar entrance that you want to go into for lunch on a weekday. We ordered a Grilled Chicken Chipolte wrap; a Grilled... More

We had a wedding reception at the Eis House August 2014 and everything turned out very well. We also rented the adjacent Summer House for the bridal party to get ready in prior to the wedding. The outside wedding in the garden area overlooking the Little Salmon River was beautiful. People said the background in the wedding pictures looked like... More

After traveling six hours in the car with a 22 month old to visit my Husband working the Fitzpatrick outage, we were ready to sit down and have someone take care of us and have a nice meal. We have been going to the Eis House since 2008. Upon entering there is a choice of the pub or restaurant, we... More
