Long tradition. It's hot dogs.

Locals line up for hot dogs that are split in half and fried in butter. They have their own mustard. Potato puffs are great. Good shakes. A throw back to drive in days. Parking can be a hassle but there is parking off the street behind the restaurant. Outdoor seating. Fun to see where postcards... read more

These hotdogs speak for them selves- so good! The mustard is beyond words! They are award winning. Sometimes you have to wait on line and the bathroom is antique but a great grab and go spot!

Obviously, Mamaroneck is full of Walter's fanatics. I respect their views, but don't share their bliss. The last time I went there, I had a double - two dogs in a single bun - and fries. The dogs themselves are mildly spiced, and have a decent snap to them. But, if I am being completely honest, the wurst at Halo... More

One of the all time best places to get a hot dog. No Nathans style or sauerkraut and mustard. So unique.. My favorite is a 'double". two split franks on one bun with mustard. So yummy. I have been going to this unusual architectural gem since 1954, when I used to ride my bicycle from White Plains ( 5 or... More

For the cost of one of Walter's "creations" I could go to the supermarket and get a half dozen packages of all-beef franks and make them the way I wanted to. With or without butter.I wouldn't have to wait on line to eat it, either.

Hot dogs may be all-American, but how many hot dog stands are on the National Register of Historic Places? For 75 years, little Walter's on Palmer Road in Mamaroneck has been drawing steady crowds who love the simple and wonderful hot dogs, fries, and variety of shakes or a good egg cream. You walk up to the quirky stand, place... More

Stop at Walters EVERY chance I get. I live in CT. but stop by on my way to a Yankee game or when headed to NYC. They did some work on the place last year and now the ordering process is a bit faster. LOVE the mustard and the black and white shakes

Walters was recommended by a local resident, my son bugged me for weeks to try it on a trip to this side of county. We each had a single hot dog, mustard and relish, shared curley fries and chocolate shake. Hot dog was tasty, bun lightly toasted so mustard and relish do not make soggy, chocolate milkshake (with 3 scoops)... More

It had been at least 25 years since I've been back to this memorable historic hot dog stand. Their hot dogs contain a flavor that still satisfies my palate and I still remembered that flavor the just clicked. I will return with friends the next time. Thank you Walters for a wonderful palate experience. Love, Jeannette
