Il Laghetto is set against beautiful Lake Mahopac, a hidden gem that Mahopacian's hold close to their hearts. The lake is for many the reason why they are here and why they stay. The location is a definite attraction that most flock to in warmer months. Il Laghetto's name is Italian for "little lake". Set on the water, il Laghetto's location makes it ideal for a Seafood focused menu. A Raw Bar with Oyster offerings, Clams, Lobster, Crab and more is open year round. The menu itself is highly focused on fish but don't deny the 16oz Steak Au Poivre. "Specials" are offered weekends and will focus on other meat options as well. Il Laghetto is open all year and we encourage people to see the lake for it's beauty through all seasons

We (the Wife & I) ate there in the summer, 2015. We got there early as we managed to beat the rush...and it's a good thing we did. We managed to get a seat right by the water which added to the experience. After a little bit, people started to come in by car & boat. Okay, about the food....the... More

If The Terrace Club was the brightness in a summer day, il Laghetto is the deeper darkness in a winter night. On Christmas vacation, before coming back to our country, we were to this restaurant? to have a family dinner with kids. I understand a lunch, or dinner meeting, like a liturgy: a well-set table, good service if I stay... More

Okay, so it's Restaurant Week. I called at 6 for a reservation at 7 and they offered 7:15. Maybe because there was only 1 inexperienced waiter working. We ordered a bottle of the house Cabarnet. After quite a while, the young man came back to tell us they were out of if. The Chianti was Millini, which I think of... More

Il Laghetto was a nice choice for lunch. We had been here before a few years ago for a family gathering. The place was not crowded on a clear but cool October Saturday. I would expect it more crowded during the summer season where tourists and boaters would congregate, Views of the lake from a window table were pleasant. The... More

Gorgeous view of Lake Mahopac from the outdoor dining area. we were there on Sunday and they had an excellent guitarist playing in the background. The prix fixe dinner had an excellent selection and was well priced. the fried calamari appetizer was perfectly done but needed more sauce with it. My husband loved the lump crabcake app. WE did have... More

Occasionally, we all experience a restaurant that has enormous potential that is one way and another less than realized. The outdoors setting and views of Il Laghetto, so wonderfully capturing the best of Lake Mahopac's attraction, the decent talents of the culinary staff set the stage for a wonderful meal that somehow never quite makes it. Many standard fare -... More

We decided to try this place as it used to be the terrace club which for a while was a really good place then it just got horrible. We saw its name changed and figured lets try it out to see if maybe its now better than it used to be. Big let down. The food was mediocre to just... More

Very nice restaurant on the water. The inside is nicely decorated, linen table clothes, napkins..etc. We sat outside with a beautiful view of the lake. The waitstaff is attentive, plenty of them, making for good service. The food was served to perfection from apps to dessert. The only thing that was disappointing was that our dinners came out within five... More

Over the years we've been to most iterations of this place on the lake. IL menu and vibe skew to the adult side with fish a focus and a somewhat limited choice of pasta for a restaurant with an Italian name. It was a gorgeous day midweek so we arrived early (5:30) so we could sit outside. IL retains the... More
