Il Laghetto is set against beautiful Lake Mahopac, a hidden gem that Mahopacian's hold close to their hearts. The lake is for many the reason why they are here and why they stay. The location is a definite attraction that most flock to in warmer months. Il Laghetto's name is Italian for "little lake". Set on the water, il Laghetto's location makes it ideal for a Seafood focused menu. A Raw Bar with Oyster offerings, Clams, Lobster, Crab and more is open year round. The menu itself is highly focused on fish but don't deny the 16oz Steak Au Poivre. "Specials" are offered weekends and will focus on other meat options as well. Il Laghetto is open all year and we encourage people to see the lake for it's beauty through all seasons

Finally, a restaurant in this location whose cuisine matches the perfect and relaxing lake views. The husband ordered the appetizer special, a calamari salad. He said it was as good as the one his Sicilian Godmother makes. I had a mojito as my appetizer. It was refreshing, but not the best mojito I've ever had. For dinner I ordered shrimp... More

Our niece, who lives nearby, invited us to meet her at this classy restaurant along Lake Mahopac. We ate out on the deck overlooking the lake and it was a beautiful bright day. The deck is open on the sides with a large transparent plastic roof. The restaurant also has a large interior dining room with views of the lake.... More

When you live in the Northeast, you appreciate even more the arrival of spring and outside dining. There is no better place than this wonderful restaurant that shares its outdoor deck with boatslips on Lake Mahopac. Without a cloud in the sky, we were treated to an outdoor table and a wonderful early dinner, while Percy provided the musical background.... More

My wife and I visited the restaurant last night. We shared the shrimp tempura appetizer and had veal Sinatra and red snapper for our main courses. First, the food was excellent - tasty, delivered hot and ample sized. Try the Sinatra as the veal was so tender it could be cut with a fork - no knife needed. Dessert was... More

We finally got here, the current owners took over last May, and we should not have waited so long. There was a party of 30 in the Lounge area which did not interfere with our meal. The Service was exceptional. The Mussel appetizer was delicious, the dipping oil was out of this world and the ingredients are a secret from... More

I was very pleasantly surprised with il Laghetto. I was hesitant to try this new restaurant in Mahopac after seeing images in a local publication (they should remove the statues inside - tacky), but am happy that we gave il Laghetto a try. The service was very attentive, the food fresh and tasty. The management was solicitous and promptly apologized... More

Wenever I am in the mood for a great shrimp cocktail, I head out to Rick's Seafood restaurant. It sells the best cooked shrimp for a delicious shrimp cocktail. We also enjoy purchasing the tilapia from icks.

I had low expectations meeting a couple of friends in that completely out my way italian eatery. I usually diss average italian restaurants in NY for serving very low average mainly red sauce pasta..at Laghetto, we had a pleasant night with good and friendly service, excellent cooking and reasonable price. Each of our party of four were satisfied, from the... More
