Bistro with charm and good food in Queens

Tournesol feels French, even though it's on a busy street in Long Island City. The staff is welcoming, friendly, and efficient, and the bistro menu is augmented by a nice array of daily specials. I had two of them -- a cod croquette appetizer and redfish main course, and both were excellent. My... read more

Save a couple thousand dollars on an authentic French meal. One doesn't have to fly to France for a good French meal. The inside of the restaurant could be sitting in any French town. The menu is typical French cafe food and very delicious. I had a Nicoise Salad that was spectacular, along with a Quiche Loarraine. They were very... More

Tournesol continues to deliver a first-rate dining experience. Limited menu and wine list but choices are very good. Service thoughtful and attentive. In a community where restaurants have flourished over the past five years, Tournesol remains a worthy pioneer.

This is a great restaurant and a good value. Very small and quaint. Excellent wine list and the service superb. We had the duck and the flounder entrees which were to die for. This restaurant is the real deal and we WILL return.

This is a true neighborhood bistro that could easily pass for France! The people are charming and helpful. The daily specials are great and the regular menu has lots to chose from. The grilled shrimp app is delicious as is the skate. Don't pass on the special coq au vin, even tho you probably had it many times! Great value... More

Headed here for dinner after a full day of sight-seeing. We made reservations that afternoon so were glad they had a table available. This is a small space with closely spaced tables. Since it wasn't too crowded when we were there it was fine. The food was excellent. All dishes, there were four of us dining, were fresh and excellent.... More

I am a frequent patron of Tournesol. It is a bistro worthy of Paris, with excellent food and wine, reasonable cost and a cordial and knowledgeable staff.
