Friendly neighborhood bistro

Headed here for dinner after a full day of sight-seeing. We made reservations that afternoon so were glad they had a table available. This is a small space with closely spaced tables. Since it wasn't too crowded when we were there it was fine. The food was excellent. All dishes, there were four... read more

I am a frequent patron of Tournesol. It is a bistro worthy of Paris, with excellent food and wine, reasonable cost and a cordial and knowledgeable staff.

This is a very good neighborhood French restaurant. The food was quite good bistro French; well prepared with well matched combinations. My wife had a special cod dish that she loved and I had duck breast that was good. We both had duck terrine w/fig, toast, and greens. This was a real foie gras terrine and was great a s... More

Travelling from Manhattan may seem silly. I just like this restaurant probably because the food is quite authentic. Brunch last Sunday started with a spicy Bloody Mary followed by a flavourful vegetable quiche with artichoke that was delicious as was the salad dressing. We came late for brunch but there was no problem and the ambience was somewhat quieter. Good... More

I love going there. Great food and service. And wines and desserts (île flottante). A bit pricy but it is worth it. Book.

First time visitor and what a find. The food is fabulous and the staff very helpful for those not familiar with french cuisine. Our waiter was an excellent food/beverage guide to show us the finer art of french dining. We all had a different dish and each was delicious. The recommended wine paired extremely well with our entrée selections and... More

To many New Yorkers and visitors to the city, the notion of dining in Queens as long been as anathema as a Metallica concert is to a Grateful Dead aficionado. No more. Queens is a hotbed of good food and, thankfully, one old favorite, so close to midtown you could almost walk, still makes you wonder why you ever hesitated... More

Nice, petite, French bistro on a busy street in LIC (trucks rumbling by interrupted conversation, but this IS busy, busy Long Island City!). Decent amount of parking nearby. Painted, pressed-tin ceiling, black-and-white photos on the walls, the ever-present expresso machine, small tables, unusually large portions (atypically French, mais non?), all-French staff, and great tasting food. Great post-Mother's Day gift for... More
