Fun and light

Shi offered a great menu with lots of selections. The food was good...but be prepared for lots of small children. The bar area looked like it was 'adults only', but the restaurant had lots of baby carriages--which could be a good thing, if you have small ones!

The prices are on point for a good sushi place: $6 - $12 rolls. They're delicious! The atmosphere is nice & romantic. Great views of the Manhattan! Love coming here.

This restaurant has some of the best views in all of NYC. You'll see the entire Midtown skyline. I live in the building the restaurant is located in. We've gone at least once a week for the past five years. The food is consistently good. The staff is very friendly and helpful Ask for Selix, the waiter. He's the best... More

Having siblings who finds great places to eat makes for a wonderful outing for a sister who lives in another state. My brother and his gf took me here. I have to say I was loving this place. The entrance door caught my attention from the get go. Drinks were great and prices were reasonable. Dinner time came, and I... More

This is a lovely place to take friends to, especially when visiting queens. This little gem in the midst of new construction in Long Island city should definitely be on your list to visit when in Long Island city. Great views of Manhattan, great food, service is somewhat lackluster but not enough to ruin the evening. Will return.

Aug 22; 6:30 PM. We walked into a very quiet place. Minimal staff. Once we order drinks, things come around a bit more. The meal itself was excellent. And behold, people began to show up. The message I'd like to leave you with is the following: Folks if you don't get out and support this very nice neighborhood place, it... More

Regardless of food quality or dining experience, consider whether or not you want to give your money to an establishment owned by someone who instructs his staff to literally shut the door in the face of a local couple who were brutally attacked outside, and refuse to call 911 for them. From NYMagazine: [the victim] told NBC that when he... More

We chose Shi as the location for a celebratory dinner after our daughter’s law school graduation, and it did not disappoint. Everything about the evening was perfect—service, food, atmosphere, even the location. Although our reserved table was inside, it was so beautiful outside that we asked for a change. Done in minutes. The outside dining area overlooks the East River,... More
