I keep wanting it to be better than it is...

I come into town one to two times a year, so I have been to Garlock's several times. It has a menu that you don't generally find at family owned places, escargot, lamb, prime rib... I have had very good meals and I have had very average meals. I have never had a meal with a group of people (up... read more

We went on a Friday night with our in-laws, my husband and father had a surf and turf which they liked , but the side dishes baked potatoes, and salad were sub par. I had rainbow trout it was dry and had almost no flavor, my mother in-law had scallops which were just ok. The service was very good. I... More

In the 1970s, here was the place for a fine open tenderloin with all the fine accompaniments. Returning over the years has seen a steady decline in quality of the meals offered. A lettuce salad was brought for our party of three, each bow littered with brown , rusty leaves and even a couple that had turned past wilted. When... More

I've reviewed Garlock's before and eaten here many times. This visit I decided to concentrate on the little things. First, the restaurant is filled with collectibles and local memorabilia. There isn't a speck of dust on anything! With the sheer volume of items this is quite a feat. Next, I was totally impressed with the house buttermilk ranch dressing. Homemade... More

The decor is straight from the late 60s-early 70s and the menu reflects that era. Good 'American' food, steaks, prime rib and seafood offered where the food speaks for itself, not drowned in sauces and exotic spices. We like it.

The absolute poorest service I have ever experienced, with no explanations or apologies.Save your money, this restaurant is in a steady decline!

I had dinner here as I headed out for an event in Western NY. Garlocks is a nice place inside, with wood and soft lighting throughout. The food wasn't quite up to what I was expecting though; perhaps just prepared differently than I enjoy. I the clams casino appetizer, followed by a tossed salad and the broiled scallops entrée. I... Had one of the best Prime Rib steaks ever!! 28 oz scrumptiously cooked prime rib with twice baked potatoes. Also asked the waitress for a recommendation for our taste in wine, and she hit the nail on the head. Found out it was a local winery and we have become their customers too!!

food is pretty good but doesn't "wow" me. The atmosphere is nice and service is good. A little on the pricey side for ok tasting food

My wife and I both had excellent meals that were very well presented. I had the Herb encrusted lamb served over mushroom risotto. My wife had the 4oz. Filet mignon stuffed with bleu cheese. It doesn't look fancy on the outside but is very nicely decorated and clean on the inside.
