Ranked #1 of 5 Restaurants in Livonia
Certificate of Excellence 2014
Dining options: Reservations, Late Night
Description: EMBER WOOD FIRE GRILL is a casual dining restaurant, occupying the old historic train station in the quaint village of Livonia in Livingston County, committed to a hospitality first attitude. In an era dominated by chain restaurants and fast, pre-packaged food, our mission is to bring our patrons REAL food at reasonable prices. Comfort from scratch cuisine using the best ingredients from sustainable sources, whenever possible: selections with no growth hormones, pesticides, pre-packaged, frozen or use of steam tables will be used in our kitchen. Our food is high quality and labor intensive, the same as some of the top restaurants, in the country, without the big city over head, so we can keep our prices reasonable. Our hope is that you, our customer, will enjoy the combination of stunning modern architecture and old charm: simple, good food "meant to share" from farm to plate. Our menus will changes with the seasons, our wood fire selections are cooked with real wood, our wine and micro brew selections are large and extensive. Our well trained staff will make your selection approachable and fun. S.O.S.: Shorts or Suit, come down and enjoy!!!

We arrived early for dinner and didn't wear collars and were turned away. Sadly, our reservations for Embers was for another restaurant in Bay Ridge area of Brooklyn. From what we can observe from the brief interaction this instance, the staff was xenophobic and not a single visible minority in the clientelle. I find it difficult to believe they are... More

I rarely rave about a restaurant. This one is an exception. When I first looked over the menu, I thought it was rather meat-heavy, but as we got to hear about the various specials, we realized that "fresh vegetable of the day" was far more interesting than you might expect. The "bruschetta of the day" was positively fantastic. The sweet... More

Creative and well executed. Reminds me of dining experiences one would get in a large city. Best food in the area, hands down!

The food was decent, service was decent, overpriced though. The place was clean. They are very busy because there's not much else to choose from in the area. So, the dining areas are loud and it's wasn't very romantic or relaxing as we hoped.

This was our second visit - a birthday celebration. Had such a great experience the first time we had to go back. This time, we brought a bottle of wine - no corking fee on Monday nights! Enjoyed the soup of the day (crab tomato bisque), olive tapenade bruschetta, crab Rangoon and a wood-fired pizza. Everything was delish, and each... More

My friends live on a horse farm in a very rural area a few minutes from here, so we felt very fortunate when this great restaurant with interesting food opened nearby. It is the old train station in a nearby town and the inside has been restored and separated into areas, with modern touches with angles, curves and subtle colors... More

I have always wanted to go to this restaurant and my husband surprised me for dinner. I was very impressed with the building itself, old and very well maintained with a great decor. The server was very friendly and well informed on all of the specials and the menu in general. The menu is set up to "share" so that... More

Having traveled to many fabulous food destinations, I was completely blown away that this little gem is tucked away in the little town of Livonia, NY. Based on a recommendation from the owner of the B&B where we stayed in Canandaigua, we visited Ember on a very crowded Monday night. Despite not having reservations, they accommodated our party & seated... More

Sorry, but I have to say that all of you that gave this a 5 star rating, obviously have never been to a 5 star restaurant. We have been there 3 times and have never been impressed. The only reason we went back after the 1st time is that it was our friends birthday and this is where they chose... More
