Liverpool tradition. Good quality fast food with local atmosphere. If in Liverpool you have to go for a hot dog.
A must visit if you are in the area. The fresh grilled hot dogs on the New England rolls are the best. Served with their chili cheese fries and a cold drink, it's a complete lunch. In the summertime, one can go next door for a nice ice cream gone . Their Purple Zebra cone is one of my favorites... More
Ok, if you're from Syracuse, the only hot dog is a Hofmann and the only coney (aka white hot) is a Hofmann. No other compares. Come here for the hots, no atmosphere. Enough said
Folks have been known to: - Arrive at Hancock Inertnational Airport and go directly to Heid's for a dog or "coney" (a spicy white sausage) - Stand in line during a snow storm for Heid's annual February "Buy one, get one free" promo - Ask locals to bring a box of Heid's dogs packed in dry ice when they come... when going for a hot dog, this is one of the best places to get a Hoffman hot dog. You have to have it well done so the skin is crispy. Heid's has been in Liverpool,NY for many years, and the hot dogs are made right here in Syracuse,NY. A hot dog and chocolate milk are a must when visiting... More
The best tasting hotdogs in America are right here in Liverpool, NY with Hofmann mustard!! It's always crowded especially when it's warm!
If you want a hotdog there is no where else to consider in the Syracuse area. Heid's is a tradition here in Liverpool NY. Great red hots and coneys, fries and must have chocolate milk. Cafeteria style. Can't go wrong.
Quality has gone down. Prices have gone up. It cost us $13.89 for three hot dogs (2 with sauerkraut), a small ice tea and one bottled water. Are you kidding??? The hot dogs had absolutely no flavor. Wouldn't mind paying the price if they were good.
Double dog was excellent, juicy, fresh and tasty! The dogs were so juicy, I didn't need a drink :-) The mustard was delicious!
I love going here whenever I go back to the Syracuse area for a visit. The coneys are awesome! Of course you have to add a bit of mustard to make them complete. Even if there is a waiting line it is so worth the wait!
