Good meeting place, good atmosphere that supports a good cause

Cafe 407 has become my go-to meeting place whenever I need a centrally located coffeeshop / restaurant. I ordered a butternut squash tartine; maple roasted butternut squash, spinach, garlic cream cheese, brown sugar browned butter, and I can't remember the other flavoring, on an onion rye bread. Wow. Accompanied by an herbal tea and a linzer cookie. Very reasonable prices, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. When they first opened the cafe, I was very fond of the salad,... More

I visited after a colleague told me what a great space it was. I was even more impressed when I realized that the cafe supports a not-for-profit organization that supports family members and individuals suffering from eating disorders. It is simply and beautifully decorated and had a rustic yet contemporary vibe. The food is amazing and very reasonable. I had... More

Recently redone inside so it's a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Sandwiches and salads are nicely prepared with a creative touch. Portion sizes are reasonable - not those huge plates that are enough for a family. Worth a stop to try!

I am always looking for new coffee shops to try around the Syracuse area since living in Rochester made me a coffee shop fanatic. I have found a couple good spots around the city, and I really wanted to try Cafe 407 when I heard good reviews about it from multiple people. The atmosphere is cute. It is bright, but... More

We tried Ophelia's for breakfast. It's spacious and homey - someone's labor of love, to be sure. French press coffee was good but overpriced (regular coffee was priced just fine). Food was pretty good. English muffin sandwich would have been better if the eggs had been prepared on the spot; seems like they make a tray of it and then... More

We've been going to Cafe 407 since it opened and frequent at least a few days per week. I have to say I enjoyed the atmosphere better before--with hand-painted tables, inspiration found in all the little things, and being able to enjoy some time with a good cup of coffee. Now it's definitely much, much busier and the remodels more... More

My husband and I ate here for the first time today.. Loved it!!! He ordered the Cuban sandwich sandwich that came with a small salad (bonus didn't know it did) and a cup (or what looked to be 1.5 cups) of loaded baked potato soup. I has the roast beef with onions lettuce and sauce (side salad also) on onion... More

The food was very enjoyable and they had gluten free options which I need. My only gripe would be that my husband won't return because he got very sick after eating there. I am not sure if his stomach was just off or if something else happened. Also, it did seem quite pricey for what you get. I ordered a... More
