The outside of the restaurant didn't look promising, the inside was simple but clean, but the sushi was really good. The spicy tuna was fresh and possibly the best I ever tasted. NY and Philadelphia roll were good. The vegie roll was excellent. Miso soup was yummy. This sushi was comparable to California sushi!

From the outside, looks reasonably unappealing. But, what matters most is the quality of food & service inside, and that is VERY GOOD ! It's a very simple almost cafe like interior with a Japanese sushi bar. The Chef's name really is Yoshi and I think it's his wife who runs the front of house. The selection of fish and... More

Authentic Japanese sushi made by an authentic Japanese sushi chef, Yoshi of course. If it's not too busy strike up a converstation with his wife, Ms Yan and you will be entertained by her sharp wit, don;t be fooled by her accent she is one sharp lady. Don't be fooled by the all you can eat or fancy named pretty... More

Short detour off 87 N. A small family Sushi bar in a strip mall. Only 4 tables and a counter. For lunch, we had gyoza, sushi and rolls. All were fresh and delicious. As we were finishing I noted a special smoked white fish roll special. It was quite good. We left happy, full and with a bill of less... More

Family run nice people. Great fresh sushi. We eat there frequently. Love the soup. Would definitely eat there if you like sushi. Smaller venue so get there early for lunch or dinner. They also have takeout.

From a frequent sushi diner, this was the real deal! Pretty much chosen at random, we stumbled into this place. The fish was fresh, the right temperature, the miso soup wasn't too salty, the staff were very helpful, and Yoshi was great.

"Jiro Loves Sushi" is a documentary about a Japanese man with a passion for sushi. Out of this passion he created one of Japan's most exclusive and expensive sushi restaurants but continues to be in the most unpretentious of locations: a subway station in a Japanese metropolis with seating for only a handful of guests. Yoshi Sushi is not exclusive... More

The only Japanese chef in Albany. During lunch time he works by himself and in the evening his wife joins him. Small restaurant so better make a reservation for large group.

Been here twice and found Yoshi to have the best, freshest sushi around. Off the beaten path and very unassuming but worth the trip. Can't say enough about the quality. If you like sushi and don't care about atmosphere this is the place for you.

Came in for the first time on a Thursday night, just my husband and I. The sushi chef, Yoshi, immediately gave us hot tea. Yan brought water, miso soup, and salad. We had edamame and a few rolls. It was delicious! The eel/avocado roll was ranked best by us, but I very much enjoyed the salmon--rich and fresh. Looking forward... More
