My husband and I visited the epicurean last night (Tuesday, September 16th) for dinner. We were presented with a groupon from my sister several months earlier and it expired on the 18th so we wanted to try it out. I am not a big fan of groupons at nicer restaurants but my sister was excited for us to use it.... More

We tried this restaurant for the first time, were seated immediately and the waiter was attentive. The appetizers and entrees were good, good wine, but disappointing dessert, chocolate bread pudding, was dry and rather bland. I had finished only half my entree purposely saving room for dessert and the entree for next days lunch. The waiter took the entree to... More

We are extremely sorry for your server's lack of judgement. The fact that he handled your situation with so little imagination and respect is unacceptable. No matter how much you train, you can never underestimate what people will do! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. If you decide to come back, please let me know and we will... More

A physican friend invited me to this European place in a Strip Mall. Dont let the enviorns fool you, the waiter was right out of a French movie who acted with disdain when we did not order quickly enough and dismissed the questioning of the wine as if we are insane. If you want a genuine French waiter who will... More

I don't think I have had such a disappointing dining experience, as being a french major who felt horrified and insulted to know the people of France, who take food to be an art, are being dubbed by The Epicurean Bistro & Wine Bar (they are probably making ends meet by marketing the Wine Bar part). The place is a... More

The teas are Harney Teas, recognized as some of the best tea in the world that we serve and can by purchased at retail and available only in the best restaurants and gourmet shops. The plastic chickens are ceramic roosters created in Italy, and they are the symbol of France. The plastic flowers are made of silk. More

We wanted to check out this restaurant for a while, so when I saw they had a Groupon I bought it immediately. We were a bit worried when we pulled up (the restaurant is in a strip mall and has a twinkling Eiffel Tower in the front) but once we got inside we were pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent... More

First, thanks so much for coming and we are glad you enjoyed yourselves. We look forward to seeing your again soon. Secondly, it is hard to know what is the best location for an upscale restaurant. Generally, in any business, it is location...location...location. Our shopping mall is a great location, maybe one of the best in the Capital Region. The... More

Right up front, we used a Groupon for "Girls Night Out". My best friend and I were given the Prix-Fixe menu which was a choice of the starter, main meal and dessert. Plenty of upscale starters and mains to chose from including fish, red meat and poultry. I chose a Salade de Bettraves, Chèvre or beet salad to start, Moules... More

I read through the reviews thinking I had a 50/50 shot of getting decent food and service but was pleasantly surprised to find most were really wrong. My daughter is a huge lover of all things French so as a special treat I took her there for lunch. She wanted the full French cuisine experience so we ordered the escargots,... More

My party of young professionals was asked almost immediately upon sitting down if we had a groupon - when we answered no, the response was "good" and the service just kept getting worse as the meal went on. Felt uncomfortable and had weird comments made throughout the meal. Food was fine, but definitely not worth the service. Have been to... More

Very French menu , fairly hi-end but a lovely place that makes you feel like you aren't really in a strip plaza. The bartender was very attentive. It was nice to see most diners actually dressed up to have dinner. We will definitely return

Thank you again for your very thoughtful comments. We are very French with an executive chef from the south of France, an owner from Montreal and a dining room captain from Morocco. We are two minutes from 2 exits off of the two major highways in the Capital Region. We have plenty of parking and we are surrounded by several... More

Visit on May 10, 2014, 6pm. Sat at the bar with a friend and was attended to by a young woman who said she was substituting for the evening. She was quite sweet and professional, always smiling. My disappointment set in after ordering the Escargot appetizer. It arrived about 50 minutes later. The bartender was very apologetic and noticeably uncomfortable... More

We are extremely sorry you did not like our escargot, one of our two top selling appetizers for the last four years. We also want to apologize for the time it took for you to be served, as apparently our oldest bartender/server was having an off night and did not communicate your order in a timely manner to the kitchen....
