The location itself looks more like a hostel, but if you get comfy with that you can enjoy a beautiful view onto the second beach. We had a shawarma (or something like that) which was really tasty.

One of the better restaurants in PSJ. Menu offers crayfish, prawns, hamburgers and breakfasts. Our travel party, two families with children aged 13 and 10 booked for dinner and unfortunately hamburgers weren't available but the kids ordered schwarmas and the line fish (mussel cracker) both of which were delicious. The adults ordered crayfish which without the garlic butter sauce was... More

Every time I've been to Port St John's a visit to DM is a must for breakfast and dinner. Relax on the deck overlooking 2nd Beach and enjoy a top crayfish thermidor; better than any Durban restaurant I've eaten at. Be sure to have sundowners first. The folk are very chilled out. You can drive there instead of walking :)

Food was fantastic. Was a bit of a walk to get there, and the food took some time to get to us, but once it came it was delicious!

Went there for lunch. A bit off the beaten path but worth the trek. I had the burger, others had wraps - and everyone raved. Very laid back and friendly people but if you're not comfortable with "African time" don't go to Africa! Just have another beer while you're waiting and chill-out.

This is definitely the best food we had in PSJ. The restaurant is hidden away up a steep dirt road off 2nd beach. It doesn't look like much from the outside but once you're there the food is fantastic. Try the crayfish and the Moroccan lamb curry.

We were told to visit Delicious Monster because of the amazing food...and this place definitely delivers. The lobster/crayfish is excellent, hamburgers, chips, steak, curries...you name it we had it and I'm extremely fussy. The view of Second beach is lovely. We highly recommend this delightful funky little eatery.

Loved it. Also liked their advertising: "Great Food, Not a Bad View". Funny. Actually the view's nice, and Second Beach is beautiful, like something out of a Robinson Crusoe movie.
