Great place to relax and get away from it all!

A lovely B&B with quaint, comfortable and very clean rooms. I love the Adirondack vibe of the whole establishment. Nan and Red are wonderful hosts and Red makes the most amazing breakfasts! He comes up with the most creative ways to serve his meals. Who would of thought salt and pepper with... read more

I visited with a group of friends - ten of us - for our annual fishing trip/reunion. We have been returning for many years: Nan and Red are superb hosts, and have easily become friends. We love the comfort of our surroundings, and the absolute perfection of the food. This year, we caught some tremendous "keepers," and Red prepared them... More

We had a wonderful dinner this past weekend! Nan did a wonderful job helping me plan a wonderful and excellent dinner for my friends and me. We have been to LP for over 20 years and think this dinner was the best we've ever had! We look forward to having another dinner at Paradox next year. Joan and Glenn

I booked our dinner party seven months in advance. That should pretty much tell you how I feel about The Paradox, Red and Nan. There were 8 of us and we were the only guests that evening so there was no rush to fill our table or any other table in the restaurant. It was nice being able to enjoy... More

We've been fans of Chef Red's cuisine for over 30 years, so we were all initially disappointed to hear that Paradox Lodge was switching to a private party format. However, we hosted a family celebration there last month and had such a wonderful time that we are already planning our next special event. We all know that Red is a... More

Just hosted a private dinner party for 13 on a beautiful fall evening. We started with white burgundy and nibbles by the bar before sitting down to dinner. The banter with Chef Red is laced with intelligence and fun! A course of lobster bisque followed. I know what you are thinking: rich and boring like it came from the can.... More

This place is shut down. Can you take it off of tripadvisor? I always have people asking where to dine when they go out in lake placid and I always give them the top five on here and since the paradox ( which I hear was an amazing place) is closed for what looks like forever can we either take... Contrary to what you wrote in your "review" Paradox Lodge is NOT "shut down". We have simply changed our method of operation. We continue to function as a bed & breakfast and in addition to that we are hosting special events and private dinner parties (minimum of six people) on a prearranged basis. Going forward we are going to start... More

Can not say enough about this tiny restaurant! The food, the service, the ambiance is all top-notch! I'd send anyone to this gem. I wish I lived closer, so I could treat myself to their delicious food more often. We came up to ski in March 2014 and ate at this restaurant 2 nights in a row. My companion grew... More

We dined at The Paradox Lodge on our way into Lake Placid on Friday, June 6th. As always we had a FABULOUS meal with stupendous service. They do not ever disappoint us as they are so much fun to watch them preparing your meal in the open kitchen and the flavors are sooo good. Their food is local and in... More
