Can not say enough about this tiny restaurant! The food, the service, the ambiance is all top-notch! I'd send anyone to this gem. I wish I lived closer, so I could treat myself to their delicious food more often. We came up to ski in March 2014 and ate at this restaurant 2 nights in a row. My companion grew... More

We dined at The Paradox Lodge on our way into Lake Placid on Friday, June 6th. As always we had a FABULOUS meal with stupendous service. They do not ever disappoint us as they are so much fun to watch them preparing your meal in the open kitchen and the flavors are sooo good. Their food is local and in... More

We visited again this June and once again one of the best meals I've ever eaten. Red and his wife are very gracious Chef and hostess. I highly reccomend to anyone heading to Lake Placid who enjoys a fine meal prepared by a very fine Chef. Don't miss this opportunity to enjoy a great meal with great atmospere and a... More

This tiny restaurant is truly a five-star treat. The chef, who has been at it 50+ years, shops for fresh items every day and prepares the food in his open kitchen. This is gourmet French food, not to be missed. It's pricey but worth every penny if gourmet dining is your priority.

When my wife asked me where I wanted to go for dinner on my birthday, I had only one response. It had to be Paradox Lodge. I have dined here before and the dinners rank as the best we have every consumed accompanied by superior service. It was going to be a long 5 hour drive but we made a... More

The paradox is of course that this house of minor size contains a restaurant of major quality. We stayed at the lodge for several days this spring and had dinner and breakfast in the small dining room. Everything about our dinner was outstanding. I especially enjoyed the wonderful variety of vegetables served with each main course. And the fresh strawberry... More

Enjoyed another fabulous meal at Paradox Lodge located behind a line of spruce trees across the street from McDonald’s on Saranac Avenue in Lake Placid (from the culinary sublime to the Mc-ridiculous). Had the huge garden salad with blue cheese vinaigrette as appetizer then the small filet with peppercorn sauce and tons of vegetables including a turnip puree (what a... More

It was through sheer luck that my husband and I happened to arrive at Paradox Lodge. We ended up having the most amazing meal, prepared in front of us in the open kitchen. Chef Red proved to be a wonderful entertainer as well as a master chef. His wife Nan and staff provided excellent service and finishing touches. Our meals... More

We were in Lake Placid over Memorial Day weekend. We had no reservations set as the restaurant we had loved the last time we were there had gotten a lot of less than favorable reviews so we decided to look around once we got up there. After reading the reviews early one morning, I decided to call and try to... More
