Great for a very filling lunch

My son and I enjoyed Caffe Rustica for lunch on three separate occasions all within 5 days while visiting Lake Placid. The food is very fresh and tasty and filling. The cream of carrot and beet soup topped with honeyed chèvre was outstanding. The salads are excellent, large as well as the... read more

Restaurant Closes at 9pm As soon as we walked in we noticed that the kitchen and Pizza oven were up and running From where I was standing I could see there were 3 tables available. One waiters approach us and told... More

Had a lovely dinner here during our trip to Lake Placid after reading some reviews online. The food was well done, you can tell the chef knows what he is doing, classic Italian fare and a nice ambiance to the place. We walked in mid-week and it was a little busy (pretty small room) and I could quickly tell many... More

We went to this place based on other positive reviews. We were seated 18" from the next table and had to listen to two gentlemen who were well into too many brews....Very crowded. The fire oven made pizza was like cardboard with some tomato cheese and basil smeared on it. We were glad to leave...not a good experience..won't go back... More

We had dinner here in February. It had been recommended by the owner of the house that we rented over President's weekend. My son was a little unsure as he had read a mediocre review on-line. Well, I am so glad that we did not pay attention to the reviewer. The food was excellent, service was fantastic. The people there... More

I rarely go out to dinner. Dating a chef and being a good cook myself makes it hard for me to want to spend $$ on something I can make at home... But it was my birthday and I do not have a wood fired pizza oven. So I requested Caffe Rustica. My boyfriend told them it was my birthday... More

We love Caffe Rustica. Everything is always consistent and the daily specials are never to be missed. The owner/chef, Kevin definitely has a fine tuned establishment as this place is constantly busy. The service is always spectacular and faces never seem to change. The menu is pricey, but well worth the high quality of fresh ingredients. We do wish that... More

This is a cute little place. The food was very good. We had the sea bass and it was delicious. However, the tables are so close together you feel like you are part of your neighbors conversations. They stuck us in the bar room where everyone is crammed when they had a much bigger room in the back where the... More

Hidden at the back of the Price Chopper complex, the restaurant is casual but elegant. The owner is a CIA trained chef who has done well to train his staff. The menu includes everything from rustic gormet pizza to full entrees. Husband ordered thr roasted red pepper and carrot puree soup and I ordered the arugula, heart of palm and... More
