The food was average and priced a bit higher than it probably should be. I waited a long time for a refill before I could finish my food.

Arrived at about 7pm went in and waited to be seated.. A couple standing in front of us waiting to be seated had been standing there for a little over 5 minutes when they finally saw an employee (waitress) they asked if they could be seated the waitress then proceeded to say "when I have a minute to clean a... If you're looking for high class or concerned about the aesthetics of your dining establishment, don't turn off Saranac Ave. If you're looking for nostalgia, a piece of Americana, and a good breakfast -- take the time to stop at one of the last Howard Johnson's in the country. Visually you walk into the 1970's. The wait staff, though friendly,... More

Had breakfast there which was very good. Wanted an omelet but they charged for anything you wanted in it (No Western etc.). Price was fairly reasonable for the area. Service was fast and waitress was very nice. Would go again if in area. The outside appearance was not that great but that is not really important so you should not... More

Menu for lunch had items on it that took me back to my childhood. Specials on different days were delicious(Tues. 2 hamburgers for the price of 1 & Fish Fry on Fridays with a huge salad bar included for a great price).

Now it seems funny to say it but this place can still do a good job cranking out good food and great value! They have a large Food Bar that is better than Ponderosa or similar chains, and this day they were running Endless Shrimp in several forms. Very good and an excellent value for $9.95. Not the highest gourmet... More

I drove from Rochester to participate in the ironman and ended up staying in their hotel . When I asked if there were any good restaurants they recommended me here. Food was pretty poor and service was not the bast but the price was cheap so you kinda pay for what you get

After looking at dinner menu's in the Lake Placid area of $16 to $30, Howard Johnson's was a refreshing value, good burgers, extensive menu, recommended meal for under $13! Friendly staff. Local beer varieties too!

We found it hard to resist stopping here to have breakfast -- it's one of two HoJo restaurants left in the US. Service was exceptionally friendly, and food was delicious.
