Good ice Cream!

The facilities look a little tired. I had one of their 6 oz. hamburgers and it was good, plus on Saturday evenings they run a special on burgers, two for the price of one. That is a good deal, especially for a burger cooked perfectly. Their fries were good as well. They do offer an extensive... read more

The trendy breakfast restaurants on Main Street come and go, but Howard Johnson's has been there as long as I can remember. Nothing fancy, just a good breakfast. Family owned and friendly service. Go there if you get a chance.

We were eating at the buffet here for a hockey tournament . The staff was friendly and attentive but the food was not good. Very pedestrian . Not what I hoped for with the money I spent. Would not recommend this restaurant

...for the kitsch. Ya gotta love the kitsch. And sadly, the kitsch is disappearing at the end of February 2015. The restaurant has been sold. It's just such a throwback...with all of the original decor etc. We actually bought some of the tri-sectioned plates when we were leaving. Go before it's too late...it's a piece of history!

You need to read the historic sign to put this restaurant into context. The service was very good as was the food. We are are iced tea fanatics so only ice brewed is acceptable and their was 'premix' run through the soda machine. They replaced the tea with soda at no charge. Spinach salad, gyro wrap, Reuben and burger were... More

Went here for the breakfast buffet. Numerous foods included. For the price, this place is a great deal. Waitresses are very attentive. Definitely would say this is the place to stop for a good/cheap meal.

I so disliked my meal that I cannot recommend this location to anyone! How can any restaurant destroy "fish and chips?" This location did! 4 pieces of fish apparently cooked from frozen, with no taste, for $13.95? http://lakeplacidhojos.com/menu The soup appetizer was not available (no deduction on the bill). No dinner roll, as was advertised (no deduction on the bill).... More

My now husband and I started going to HOJO's in Lake Placid when we were college students on a budget, we loved it then. So on a recent trip through the are we stoped as a family on a budget, its nice to know somethings stay the same.....the food was good, comfortable restaurant, very kid friendly and they still give... First things first -- this is not the Howard Johnson's you remember. Yes, they have the orange roof and the classic sign and the old Chevy out front, but once you are inside, you quickly realize that's where the nostalgia ends. The chain has pretty much wound up at this point, and inside you won't find a Howard Johnson's menu... More
