Nice Lunch

The restaurant was empty when we arrived on a Wednesday in late March for lunch. Our friendly waitress seated us by the water view windows. I ordered eggplant parmesan - excellent ($10). It came over spaghetti and with a side of bread. My husband ordered a reuben, which came with fries, a pickle... read more

You won't be disappointed with the food and the prices. They have a varied and eclectic menu and we can't wait to return again. Great service and nice located.

Popped in to the Brown Dog for what we anticipated would be a glass of wine before heading in for the evening. It certainly didn't work out the way we planned. Our bartender Kolin, was a knowledgeable and charismatic fellow who had spot on recommendations for wine selections and appetizer pairings. Long story short, thanks to him we ended up... More

We had a great experience at the Brown Dog last year so it was definitely on the schedule for this visit. We stopped in on Friday night and tried the nightly $5 wine special and ordered a couple other glasses and the cheese plate which was absolutely delicious.... This is a tough neighborhood to be creative...general work ethic in town not very customer oriented and rather dismissive...this is better than average in terms of service but even at the relatively empty lunch time where we enjoyed a lovely lunch, still missing some beats. Nice wine by the glass, although would have preferred it served in a glass that... More

Had been herein a previous trip and had a good experience. It is a nice atmosphere, the food is great although a little pricey. We had scallops and tuna, both delicious and the salads were exceptional. The service though was abysmal. The server was friendly when he first approached us. He had to come back and confirm the order and... More

We love eating here. They have great wines, unique beers and awesome food. The view from the dining room is a great view of Mirror Lake. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff, including the owner are friendly and knowledgable.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at the Brown Dog on our most recent trip to Lake Placid. Food was great and Kelly the owner was fun, entertaining and a gracious host.
