Great place for lunch

We had lunch here to get away from the crowds. The food and service was very good. We had a table along the windows with a fantastic view of the lake. Highly recommend for quiet and delicious meal.

Great views combined with good food and a good draft selection make this the perfect place to come in from the cold for lunch!

Not sure what changed from our first trip to the second one, but the restaurant is not the same. We first dined with Brown dog in their original location and had an exceptional meal. We recently dined here and everything was just ok. The quality of the food and ambiance had gone from a 10 to about a 6. Our... More

We visited the brown dog with five couples on a Wednesday night . I had made reservations Wednesday morning by phone and they had a beautifully set table waiting for us along the back window overlooking the lake . When we went in we were met by the owner who was friendly and personable . We were shown to the... More

Had New Years Day dinner here for a birthday celebration. Staff was very accommodating. Great selection of menu choices from full entrees to small plates. Dining Room over looks Mirror Lake.

My friend and I had tea there one afternoon and came back later for a delicious dinner. We ate light...both had Caesar salads followed by the mussels (me) and crab cake (my friend). Unique "crackers" with the salads (thin slices of bread toasted with cheese on them). The services was great and we didn't feel rushed. Nice wines. The prices... More

Our lunch at the Brown dog Café was very good. Our selections included the Caesar salad with chicken and a turkey Thanksgiving Panini which were both excellent. My salad had a large amount of delicious chicken in it (for an extra charge) and was quite filling. The French fries were very tasty. However, the service was poor which was surprising... More

We arrived just after a bunch of tables sat and the staff was clearly overwhelmed. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some cocktails and hot chocolates to get warm from the frigid temps outside for 30 minutes just what they told us the wait would be. Being big rescue animal people, we loved all the dog pictures and quotes.... More

We are year-round residents who enjoy bringing visiting family and friends to local restaurants. This was my second visit to the Cafe for dinner. The first visit with my husband was pleasant.  Our duck quesadillas were fine and the service was timely and polite. We were very pleased with complimentary appetizers of goat cheese and fig jam on baguette toasts... More

My wife had the lobster bisque, after her first taste she said "best she's ever had and I'm instantly in Maine." I had a "turkey dinner sandwich" which was to die for. Very quaint place with a great view of the lake. Not sure what dinner would be like but based on lunch we can't wait to try it out.
