Stopped in for a meal Nov 7. Was seated prompty near the fireplace which was nice as it was chilly out. Friendly prompt service all through our time. Food priced very reasonable. One of us had the prime rib and one the sirloin special. Both included salad, and also bread was brought to the table. Meats for both were ok... More

To borrow a phrase, "It was a cold and rainy night" when we stopped by. The food was very good and the huge fireplace was perfect. The prices are reasonable, and the service was very attentive and personable with a relaxed atmosphere that allowed you to linger over your meal. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening, so the next night, when... More

We walked by the Fireside on a walk down the main street of town from the Olympic Center. It is only open from 4:00pm-9:00pm. I ordered the special 4oz steak with a piece of shrimp on top, a small side of mixed vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes. I loved the steak. It was delicious, tender and juicy. It was cooked... The atmosphere is nice. Good prime rib special, but unfortunately the scallops arrived raw as did the shrimp that accompanied the "small fare" option. Both were returned and arrived back at our table after being thrown in the microwave. The "small fare" option was a good size portion and price for those of us who don't want a huge meal.... More

The Fireside 's roaring wood fireplace and wooden "old world" decor give an awesome feel to this very warm and inviting space. We found the service to be good. They do take reservations for big groups. He garlic cheese bread is awesome. Good onion soup. Good menu and loads of steak and poultry. This is not a place for out... More

We were pleasantly surprised by our first visit to the Fireside. It was a busy Saturday night, but we only waited 15 minutes or so for a table, which is about what the hostess told us. Hostess seemed a bit brusque but otherwise OK. Our waitress was very friendly and competent. Shrimp and lobster bisque was excellent. Tons of pieces... More

We were in town for the day and had another restaurant in mind for dinner, however, staff in a local store suggested we give Fireside a try. We had a lovely meal....I had the Chicken Fireside - delicious. Others at the table had pasta, steak and swordfish - all of which were very tasty. I thought the menu was reasonably... More

From the moment I walked in I was treated like family. Food was fantastic, had the prime rib. My waitress made sure that I was never without, I will be back for sure, thank you.

Every time we visit Lake Placid we are sure to stop in for dinner. The food is always excellent and so is the service. Never have we been disappointed with either. How ever this time I saw something that should not have occurred when the dinners next to us left. The table was cleared but not washed before the next... More

Service was a little slow the night we were here ... and they ran out of both baked potatoes & garlic mashed (which were part of a special) ... so we had steak & ... rice ... eh ... not bad, but not great, and not what we were expecting... bread was great, sangria was very good...
