Nice and quiet atmosphere. Over looks the lake. Could be very romantic if the heat was turned up a bit.

We ordered 2 soups and 2 dishes that each came with rice. For 25 bucks including tax, we were full. The vegetable soup was actually pretty chock full of veggies and for $1.65 I was impressed at how much was in there. Vegetables were fresh, food tasted like it was all cooked in the same sauce and it was pretty... More

A clean, conveniently located Chinese restaurant. Nothing much different from any Chinese restaurant, but its fairly roomy, and right in the middle of town, so it's a nice option for people travelling with kids who are price conscious.

We were walking through town trying to decide where to eat supper and hated to wait in line for high-priced food on a Friday night. When we stopped at this restaurant, it was just like the Chinese one in our hometown-even the menu looked the same! My husband and i shared our usual General So's dinner platter with an extra... By far the worst Chinese Food... ever! Ordered a variety of dishes to bring home for dinner and when I opened the first box, it smelled like someone had urinated on the food. Absolutely disgusting!!! Threw it all in the trash and made spagetti. Don't know what went on in the Kitchen, but will never try eating there again.

We've already posted a review of China City elsewhere, but thought we'd reiterate our appreciation of this restaurant. We're an Asian family who loves to hike as we travel across the country. Wherever we end up, we look up the local Chinese restaurants to fuel up. Some cities and towns have awful Chinese food (e.g. towns around the White Mountains... More

Quick inexpensive Chinese food in a basic restaurant with several tables, platic plates and utensils served by probably the owner's daughter who works the cash register and brings you the food. Not great food but the Lo Mein was not bad. Sauce tends to be greasy and salty.

We have gotten take out from China City usually when it was the last option. The food is not the best, and I usually feel sick the next day.

I was a little weary about getting Chinese food in such a little town as Lake Placid, but I decided to give China City a chance. And boy was I surprised! The food and and the prices were great compared to the other places around town. Instead of paying $24 for a single salad at some overpriced restaurant, I got... More

I used to live in Lake Placid and have stopped in here to eat many, many times. The prices are great, the portions are large and I always get good and full, not an easy feat when eating Asian food. One of the only places in town you can actually afford to eat, if you aren't a rich tourist. They're... More
