For many years, Chair 6 was one of our favorite breakfast spots in Lake Placid. We've known that they also served dinner but were reluctant to try it. How can a place serving breakfast burritos (very good BTW) could also serve fine dining? It took us 5 years to try it and when we did, we just fell in love!... More

Luckily our server was kind enough to seat us instead of the table of nine looking to sit indoors. Their request backed things up for some of the morning. It's a small restaurant, tables of six or more takes up about half the tables indoors. This place has wonderful and character. There has never been anything bad on the menu.... More

If you are visiting Lake Placid, a visit to Chair 6 is a must do! We were a table of eight and thus took up much of this very small restaurant. (Reservations are a must.) Each of us was very pleased with our choice of meal. I had the arugula salad with blueberries and almonds but the quinoa salad and... More

Table for 4 all happy with the entire meal & wonderful dessert. Food so fresh & the flavors are so delish. Better have reservations small farmhouse like restaurant but definitely worth visiting while in Lake Placid. Went back & enjoyed a wonderful lunch the next day.

Had breakfast here with the family this past weekend. The place is small but nice. The food was really good. Good quality ingredients, great coffee, and everything was homemade. I really enjoyed the sweet potato pancakes. Service was also really good. I would go back here again for sure.

I placed a take out order for what sounded like delicious food. It was ready at the suggested time and I drove back to my hotel 20 minutes away. There had been not a single table occupied in the restaurant when I picked up my food which should have been a warning. When I unpacked the food, I realized that... More

This is a must-visit restaurant in Lake Placid. With its small farmhouse-like environment, the food matches the experience. Expect items to involve rhubarb and strawberry plus local maple syrup. Chair 6 substitutes sweet potato pancakes for regular pancakes, thick-sliced bread for French toast, and it has one of the best sausage gravy dishes around. Its location outside of the main... More

Although outside of town proper......this charming LITTLE place is just great. I believe it is owned by one of the larger restaurants/hotels, and it offers the same quality. But be warned...it is on the pricy side for breakfast. Never had lunch there....didn't even know they served it!

They will not let you bring your dog even if you sit outside! I have never eaten at a place that does not allow dogs for outside seating. The manager doesn't know basic regulations regarding animals I guess. Obviously for pet owners this place is a no go. The food was average breakfast fair. Nothing special honestly

Fantastic dinner. We were there on a Wednesday: lucky us! Their prix fixe dinner had a lovely menu. We loved the roasted garlic and tomato soup as well as the corn bisque. The Arctic char was well done, with a cream sauce. The mozzarella ravioli seemed to have a touch of lemon and basil, and were wonderful. The panna cotta... More
