Who would have thought to make a mountain birthday cake? Complete with a ski hill and tiny little skis? Leave it to Cake Placid to pull it off. The chocolate cake they made for my birthday party, 120 guests, was moist, fluffy and delicious, even though it was a huge cake. All the guests took pictures of it before it... More

The scones which were wonderful. Anyone who looks forward to the fall and pumpkin must try the pumpkin spice cupcakes....to die for. But my favorite was the OMG bar...appropriately named. Just wish I lived closer.

Cake placid is a most pleasant surprise in this little mountain town. I have purchased birthday cakes in the best of cities and Cakeplacid rates up there with the best of them. The baker does an amazing job as an artist, as well as bakes a melt in your mouth cake. Her trademark birch bark, Pinecone icing is a mountain... More

WE shared a cupcake, as they are very rich but worth the calories. Unique flavours and many to choose from. They have a filling inside which makes them very moist and rich. Enjoyed it very much, but honestly half was enough.

Cake Placid is one the the finest true bakeries that we have enjoyed in a number of years. The frosting lightly whipped and tasty. The cake a moist, flavorful delicacy. I have missed a true old fashioned bakery cake with really beautifully crafted frosting, until Cake Placid. The service was as wonderful as the cupcakes. A young woman who patiently... More

We stopped in our way home to pick up some cupcakes and we were very happy we did! The caramel apple and pumpkin cupcakes are the perfect autumn desserts!! So excited that there is another Cake Placid closer to home in Ballston Spa! Will definitely be ordering from Cake Placid for our next family birthday!!

Arranged for some treats to be sent to my hotel to surprise my wife for her birthday and everything was executed flawlessly. went to the store and ended up getting tons more while on the trip. Even ordered a cake to bring home for our daughter's birthday. Everything we tried was excellent.

My simple vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting was worth the 1 hour and 45 minute drive to LP. I like the basics and this cupcake was fantastic along with the cro-nut and other pastries I purchased. The staff was extremely pleasant and this is now one of my favorite shops in LP. I can't wait to come back!

We decided our first stop would be at Cake Placid, I waned to make sure that they didn't run out the Crodack. This time I got one glazed and one sugared. I also got a shortbread cookie, I ate that while I walked to the car. My friends got the s'more bar. A vanilla/vanilla cupcake, a raspberry zinger cupcake. It... More

Stopped by to get some cake pops for the wife and kids, which they absolutely loved. But I spotted a savory scone and was really interested in what it was like. It was cheddar, bacon, scallion. Of course I had to have it in the car on the way back to the hotel. It was really really good. Very moist... More
