Be prepared to take some time to read the menu of both drinks and food. Each offering is a unique blend of flavors and takes some time to process the combinations. We visited twice when in Lake Placid and were pleased with our choices both times. The chef allowed the freshness and flavors of the ingredients to shine through on... More

What a great casual dining experience. Nothing pretentious about this place. A little hipstery but juuuust the right amount. Amazing and generous alcoholic drinks (yay!) and a nice eclectic menu. Definitely worth trying new things here (like rabbit). My one complaint and why it didn't get 5 stars from me? The man and I are Canucks (Ottawa and Quebec City)... More

If you are looking for standard pub fare or traditional comfort food, look elsewhere. The menu is...eclectic. I happen to love trying anything different or unusual, and many items on the menu fit that bill perfectly. Many items are procured locally, so the menu changes often and reflects what is available. The downside is that you may not find something you... More

Liquids and Solids was unique! The menu was out of the ordinary, but very good. I can't remember what I ordered, but my husband ordered the Beef Hearts which he said was very good. The atmosphere was very casual. We were seated promptly. It was a perfect restaurant during the Ironman week competition. Lots of protein for the runner!

In this area we like Black Bear, Interlaken Inn and Liquids and Solids. Of the 3 liquids and solids is the most casual, the cuisine is the most out of the box (creative). They get the biggest crowd and serve dinner until 11 PM (on weekends at least). The ambiance is a bit dark, packed on weekends, full of locals...there... More

Unlike other reviewers, I loved Liquids and Solids. I loved the darkness of the restaurant (it wasn't so dark I couldn't see what I was eating) and the unconventional way they prepare and serve food and drinks. The menu has changed since I was there in December, so I can't remember what dishes I ordered, but I know we had... More

I swear they made up the menu by opening the fridge and saying, "Let's see..." First of all the name of the place. For me it evoked a long hospitalization or at the very least recovering from the throw-up bug. The dining experience followed suit. It was dark inside the restaurant and the menu was almost illegible -- tiny print... More

Too dark to see what I was eating. Every mouthful unnameable and fatty. Menu made by throwing darts.

We stopped by for a drink and appetizers. Their beer selection is outstanding! We tried a number of different ones and loved them all. Their food are interesting combinations of flavor that work well together. The meatballs were our favorite!
