inventive and delicious

Ambiance: It's a relatively small place with dim, cozy lighting and tall tables, candles on the table in mason jars, a roaring fire in the cast iron stove at one end of the room. The crowd looked like a combination of couples/dates, a birthday party, one family, with some apres ski (like us... read more

5 star dining. The food and drink were outstanding. They would not substitute kale with my caesar and the menu is highly confusing. Minor criticisms for such high quality fair. Highly recommended, hopefully they improve the menu's presentation or the server's translation. My water was always full... This is a better indication of quality service. Overall outstanding but true criticism... More

The menu was even more adventurous this time. We enjoyed the duck stroganoff and the pork and mushroom terrine as well as local cheeses & charcuterie and puotine.

We use to frequent this bar years ago, so it had sentimental value. We had a drink and some bar food which were good, but the place didn't have the same friendly feel.

I hate going to a restaurant & paying serious money for a meal that I could have cooked better at home. NOT TRUE at Liquids & Solids. There menu is unique & fun & quite different from most other restaurants. I had an amazing gin cocktail that I reluctantly shared w/my friends because it looked & tasted so good. There... More

Don't be scared off by the "adventurous" menu, they know how to use funky ingredients that will pack a punch. Crazy, amazing drink selections and beer selections. Cool atmosphere but a little dark. Favorite drink is the Mango Lassi

We walked in, gave our name to the frantic hostess, only to see that a couple that walked in after us were seated ahead of us. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry," said the chaotic hostess, "I wasn't sure who was next. It's been such a busy day." Well, I wonder why she had that list of names in her... More

We went to Liquids and Solids for the first time in February of 2014. We made another trip to Lake Placid over the New Year holiday and Liquids and Solids was at the top of the list to revisit. We had dinner on 12/31/14 and it was every bit as good as we had remembered. The food is anything but... More

My husband and I enjoyed a night out in LP without our children and headed to Liquids and Solids. We knew based on many reviews that the menu was different. We arrived late (after 9) to avoid the crowds and were seated almost immediately. The only disadvantage to arriving late is that they had run out of several items on... More

This is not your average Lake Placid place, but as long as you can get over the hipster snobishnish of the menu and staff, it is outstanding in both food and drink.
