Every great dinner, by my lights, begins the minute you walk in the door. At Artisan my GF and I were greeted promptly and warmly as we came in and shown to a quiet table on the terrace overlooking Lake Placid at sunset. From cocktails through the delicious and inventive tasting menu to a nice vintage port, the service was... More

Fabulous lake view in this lovely terrace with beautiful fireplace in quintessential Adirondack architecture (albeit new c2008, so very fresh) with service that is top notch, but food at our four-course prix fixed dinner @$80pp fell far short of these other attributes. Ordinarily, would have said, just OK dinner with great vista and that's that, but the pretension here deserves... More

Even if you can't afford to stay at the Lake Placid Lodge, you should consider dining in the lakefront restaurant overlooking the lake. The food is superb and the experience is amazing. This is the ultimate Adirondack experience. And ask for a few packages of S'mores with skewers that you can take down to a lakeside camp fire after dinner.

The entire dining experience at Artisans was memorable. The restaurant is nestled in a spectacular setting, the staff is professional & attentive, and the menu items were delicious and perfectly prepared. Be prepared to pay for the bliss.

Great service, many servers, very attentive staff; lit the fire for us and were extremely helpful. The view remains unbelievable; supplied by Mother Nature, and the food was pretty good as well. We were amused at one thing: We wanted separate bills; as there are WIDE variation in prices depending on whether you drink; take the entire menu; have desert... More

This restaurant is in a spectacular setting, even on a rainy day. There is a beautiful terrace from which you can enjoy the view protected by clear plastic curtains(not scratched or spotted, as some can be). The indoor rooms are beautiful too. The whole lodge is gorgeous - worth visiting even if the food were terrible, which it is not.... More

Ate outside on terrace and had wonderful view. Besides a roaring fireplace nearby our table the Lodge offers shawls (very comfy according to my wife) and has heaters mounted on ceiling. Was surprised the wait staff for Artesians is the same as Maggie's Pub - perhaps this is due to being slow season. Maybe just me but just seems a... More

We had dinner twice at Artisans while staying at the Inn. The food was wonderful. the first night i had the winter hike salad and the yam and vegetable plate. The second night, my husband and i had the four-course menu. Again, the food was really delicous.

Not sure where to begin. The awkward waitstaff? The terrible food? The pretentiousness? The best part of the dinner was watching 2 couples get kicked out of the restaurant because they were "too loud..." They were having a great time with each other, enjoying the evening, not disturbing others but apparently this was offensive to the staff. Perhaps my husband... More
