Our friends who are local chose this restaurant and it was ok. We had a very long wait because there were 5 of us in the party and when we finally got seated, we were right by the door to the kitchen. The food was good enough though not particularly creative. The waiter was ok though not particularly attentive. Perhaps... More

I try to avoid hotel restaurants because they are usually overpriced and not very good. However, our friends chose the place and I was pleasantly surprised. Lorraine was our attentive server and did an excellent job. Blueberry pancakes with REAL maple syrup (not Mrs. Butterworth's), granola and oatmeal all served attractively....egg white dishes were available as well as gluten free... More

This was our second time going to the Dancing Bears - this time with our family. We went again because we had really enjoyed the food on a previous vacation. We snagged a table on the upstairs patio - highly recommended as you have a great view. Lauren was a friendly server and right on top of things. The food... More

Went there because of the roof top view on our last night in Lake Placid.... Parking for this restaurant may be a challenge in this busy town, but try the adjacent High Peaks Resort. We had read the mixed reviews, but still decided to give it a shot. Our overall experience was really ok. We also lucked out in having... More

Excellent food and excellent service. There is nothing like this in Saranac Lake. Even though we stayed in Saranac Lake we frequently came to Lake Placid to have dinner at the Dancing Bears Restaurant. When a McDonalds is the best restaurant in town it is worth traveling 15 miles to fine a better restaurant.

We had dinner here recently, and of all the places we stopped, this was the least memorable. The place looks nice. The Dancing Bears theme is obvious before one enters the restaurant. The space is quite large; it's rather remarkable. There is an old-time scale at the entrance/ exit one can use to weigh him/ herself on the way out... More

For all the signs and ads saying what a great place this was - I was underwhelmed. Very average. The servers were nice and helpful though.

Boring food, healthy choices very limited, quality of ingredients sub par. If you want a heart attack on a plate and a belly buster to go, this is the place for you.
